<\/a> Good day all. A few months ago, Kari Lake was made President Trump Senior Advisor United States Agency for Global Media a few months ago. She was tasked to look into the Voice of America and recommend changes if needed. Her recommendation was to shut the whole thing down<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It turned out that the VOA had long since moved away from it\u2019s mission of bringing honest, uncensored news to countries living under dictatorships. Now additional information has come out that further proves that the correct decision was made. Here are the details from Just The News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

V<\/b>oice of America (VOA) managers met multiple times with Chinese officials seeking to influence more favorable U.S. coverage of their country, part of a larger dynamic that proved to the “detriment of America” and its taxpayer-funded media operation for the world, Trump adviser Kari Lake told <\/b>Just the News<\/b><\/em>. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Lake, the president’s senior adviser for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, said the meetings with communist China officials both in Washington and abroad were discovered as part of an investigation that exposed undue foreign influence on the VOA’s operations.<\/p>\n

“We found out in our investigations over the months that I’ve been here, that the CCP, operating out of the embassy in Washington, D.C. … were meeting regularly with VOA management to tell them how they should be covering China,” Lake said Tuesday night in a wide-ranging interview on the <\/b>Just the News, No Noise<\/b><\/a><\/em> television show. <\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not a lawyer, but that has the distinct aroma of Espionage to me. I don\u2019t blame the ChiComs for trying this, it\u2019s their job, just as it\u2019s ours to do the same thing to China. It\u2019s all part of the \u201cGreat Game.\u201d However, that the people running the Voice of America were working hand in glove with the Communist Chinese should be handed to the Department of Justice for criminal investigation.<\/p>\n

Lake said the coverage was skewed to portray the country in a positive light, and that at least one VOA official with the Mandarin language division had pledged his support for the CCP at one of the meetings. <\/b><\/p>\n

“I mean, you can’t make this stuff up. It’s so crazy. But then over the years, it got more brazen, and I understand that VOA management, some of them, actually went over to China and met with CCP officials there,” she said. <\/b><\/p>\n

And this is why we need to get the FBI involved. This is literally one of the things they are supposed to be doing, looking for spies and the people in this country they are running. (The general definition of these people is \u201cTraitors,\u201d although we can\u2019t charge them with that)<\/p>\n

Lake also confirmed previous\u00a0<\/b>Just the News\u00a0<\/b><\/em>reporting<\/b><\/a> that VOA hired multiple Chinese nationals with ties to Chinese state media, and sponsored hundreds of visas for other foreign journalists to come work at the USAGM subsidiary.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Lake argued that Chinese journalists being brought to America on the taxpayer’s dime and pushing \u201cpro-CCP propaganda” to the “detriment” of the country, contradicted the original purpose of the VOA, which was\u00a0formed during World War II<\/a> to combat Axis propaganda and later used during the Cold War to promote Western and American values abroad.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

The senior advisor, who has been tasked with dismantling the USAGM and VOA, additionally noted that the issue extended beyond China to impact coverage of Russia as well. Those stories, she lamented, were largely pro-Russia and “anti-American.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Kari Lake is working to close down this taxpayer funded anti-American agency. Like so many other departments and agencies, it\u2019s to far gone to fix. As for the people who were running it, I think a serious conversation in front of a congressional oversight committee may be warranted, with every single one of these people, under the advice of legal counsel, refusing to answer question under the 5th<\/sup> amendment. Then let them repeat the performance in an FBI interrogation.<\/p>\n

It certainly looks like, from my unschooled point of view, that there is enough evidence to indict pretty much everyone working at the VOA. Hopefully, Kari Lake has spoken with Director Patel and Assistant Director Bongino about all this. Heads need to roll, and possibly, literally.<\/p>\n
