Good day all. Who remembers Special Counsel Jack Smith<\/a>? He was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland for the sole purpose of railroading President Trump and as many of his supporters as possible into prison. He obviously failed and failed big time.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Things began to fall apart for Smith and his team of thugs when Supreme Court Justice commented that he didn\u2019t think that Smith had been legally appointed to his role. While this had no actual legal effect, it did start people looking into Smith\u2019s appointment and challenging it. (A special counsel has to have been confirmed by the Senate. Smith was hired right out of the private sector and never faced a confirmation hearing)<\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve covered, along with other far more capable then I am, Smith was playing fast and loose with the Law and the Constitution. He took shortcuts, resorted to judicial extortion and was basically a major player in the lawfare being waged against President Trump. Finally, the whole house of cards collapsed when President Trump won the 2024 election in a landslide and Smith surrendered<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

During and after Smith\u2019s witch hunt, people were asking how he was getting away with what looked like major violations of the law and the Constitution. It now appears that someone in authority is also asking these questions and a formal investigation has been launched. Here are the details from the New York Post<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Office of Special Counsel has launched a formal investigation into Jack Smith, the first official legal probe into his conduct, The Post has learned.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

An email reviewed by The Post states The Hatch Act Unit, which enforces a law restricting government employees from engaging in political activities, has begun reviewing the former Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice. The email was written by Senior Counsel Charles Baldis at OSC. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the Office of Special Counsel taking this seriously and launching an investigation into Jack Smith\u2019s conduct. No one is above the law. <\/b><\/p>\n

Smith and way to many prosecutors, judges, district attorneys, etc, think that they are above the law. Smith has a long history of abusing his authority which is why I believe Garland chose him in the first place. Garland knew smith would do anything to \u201cGet Trump!<\/p>\n

OSC opened the investigation into Smith after Cotton wrote a letter<\/a> earlier this week alleging Smith took blatantly political action to undermine President Trump in his 2024 bid. <\/b><\/p>\n

If you recall, Smith wanted to try President Trump on his bogus charges at the height of the 2024 election. President\u2019s Trump\u2019s legal team fought Smith tooth and nail. Things really started falling apart after the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania. (I have a suspicion that Smith and his minions might have breathed a sign of relief that Trump survived. If he had been killed, there was an excellent chance of a full blown civil war and Smith would have been among the first targeted)<\/p>\n

In his letter to OSC, Cotton explains how Smith\u2019s actions undermined Trump\u2019s political efforts. <\/b><\/p>\n

Well Senator, that was Smith\u2019s job after all.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of Smith\u2019s legal actions seem to have no rationale except for an attempt to affect the 2024 election results \u2013 actions that would violate federal law.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Smith, like far to many in the DoJ, literally would do whatever it took to get President Trump and anyone else who stood in the way of the Democrat\u2019s plans for the United States. This is why you saw them going after people who literally did nothing wrong, and others who were locked up for years without trial.<\/p>\n

Cotton accuses Smith of blatant political actions to interfere with Trump\u2019s 2024 presidential run, including speeding up his investigation to schedule trial dates that would interfere with important political moments, such as the Iowa caucuses. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThese actions were not standard, necessary, or justified,\u201d Cotton added. \u201cThey were the actions of a political actor masquerading as a public official.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

I find it interesting that they are looking at this as a Hatch Act<\/a> investigation. Doing some research, this is basically the equivalent of handing Smith a parking ticket. He may be blocked from any further federal employment, but as far as I can tell, that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

However, it might be used as a means to open a far broader investigation into his actions and activities as a fake special counsel. There is certainly a lot of smoke on how he did things, and with all the evidence coming to light that there was an active conspiracy to manufacture what could have been a criminal case against President Trump, it may be that Smith and his minions might end up being fitted for orange jumpsuits in the future. One can only hope.<\/p>\n
