Good day all. Things aren\u2019t looking to good for CBS News these days. They lost, well settled a lawsuit with President Trump, Several of their old line managers left, or were fired, and then Skydance bought Paramount, which owns CBS despite the antics of the News division to scuttle the deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the sale to Skydance was finalized, rumors started that Skydance was going to bring in someone who\u2019s task was to clean up the News division. The rumor was that Bari Weiss, who was one of the two people who, working with Elon Musk, broke the Twitter Files.<\/p>\n

This set off the Leftards in CBS. They accused Skydance of interfering with the News. Then came reports that Skydance was buying Bari Weiss\u2019s web site for major money, and the CBS Leftards really went off the deep end. Now the formal announcement that Bari Weiss is going to be the new Editor in Chief and the meltdown is under way. Here are the details from the Washington Free Beacon<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Paramount formally announced the onetime <\/b>New York Times\u00a0<\/b><\/em>opinion writer turned\u00a0<\/b>Free Pres<\/b><\/em>s founder Bari Weiss as its editor in chief on Monday. Staffers at the perennially third-place network and their allies in the mainstream media are not taking it well. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Inside CBS\u00a0News,\u00a0employees did the courageous thing: They started anonymously\u00a0leaking\u00a0their incensed reactions to left-wing outlets like the\u00a0<\/b>Guardian<\/b><\/em>\u00a0and Mehdi Hasan’s\u00a0<\/b>Zeteo<\/b><\/em>. Some\u00a0encouraged Weiss<\/a>\u00a0not to “mess with the Golden Goose(s) of ’60 Minutes’ and ‘CBS News Sunday Morning,'” the network’s most prominent programs.\u00a0As far as we understand it, that’s, like, her new job.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

That is exactly what her job is. CBS News has demonstrated that they need a keeper. They\u2019ve been nothing more than a propaganda arm for the Democrat Party for so long that they\u2019ve lost all credibility with pretty much anyone who isn\u2019t a retarded Progressive.<\/p>\n

Outside the network, a trio of\u00a0<\/b>Times<\/b><\/em>\u00a0columnists voiced their displeasure. <\/b><\/p>\n

Gee, I\u2019m so shocked to hear that. No I\u2019m not. Weiss was basically pushed out from the NY Slimes because she wouldn\u2019t bow to the Progressive Liberal messages.<\/p>\n

Progressive news site\u00a0<\/b>Salon<\/b><\/em>\u00a0went\u00a0so far as to cite former CBS anchor Dan Rather\u2014who\u00a0was unceremoniously fired in 2006 after he humiliated the network when he broadcast\u00a0a false report on\u00a0<\/b>60 Minutes II<\/b><\/em> about\u00a0George W. Bush’s military service records\u00a0in an attempt to throw the 2004 election to John Kerry\u2014as the type of heroic\u00a0journalist\u00a0who would oppose Weiss and her “political interference.”\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One of the things that is going to happen with CBS is layoffs.<\/p>\n

New CBS chief David Ellison reportedly plans<\/a> to “right-size” the network, which is losing around $50 million a year. <\/b><\/p>\n

Ellison is a bit more then just the \u201cNew Chief\u201d of CBS. He bought the whole kit and kaboodle, meaning Paramount as well. Still, Paramount has a lot of very valuable IP that, unlike Disney, they haven\u2019t completely destroyed with WOKE, DEI trash. CBS on the other hand, is a disaster.<\/p>\n

That disaster is continuing of course. The Washington Free Beacon has a list of \u201cResponses,\u201d (More like whines and Fweels), with a fair number being anonymous. The ones that aren\u2019t anonymous are by people who do not work at CBS, (And probably never will) Here are a few, starting with the geniuses at Salon:<\/p>\n

“Two decades after Dan Rather warned that corporate control would erode journalism, CBS News may be proving him right. Under new owner Larry Ellison, the network has named Bari Weiss, founder of The Free Press, as its new editor in chief, raising fears of political interference and layoffs.” (<\/b>Salon<\/b><\/em>.com<\/b><\/a>) <\/b><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t follow Salon. From what I\u2019ve heard, they are to the left of Karl Marx. That they brought up Dan Blather, who ended his career with the comment, \u201cFake, but accurate,\u201d tells you how seriously they can be taken.<\/p>\n

“Headlines like this \u2014 ‘Morale is extremely low at CBS ahead of Bari Weiss taking over’ \u2014 is, perversely, a key reason Paramount’s leadership paid such a ridiculous premium for Free Press. The *point* is to break the real journalists.” (Former <\/a><\/b>Politico Magazine<\/b><\/em> editor Garrett Graff<\/b><\/a>) <\/b><\/p>\n

I think that breaking the \u201cReal\u201d journalists is the whole idea. While I don\u2019t read Bari Weiss much, she does seem to follow the old school tenets of reporting. Report what you see and hear, what other saw and heard, and don\u2019t make comments about it. Keep the editorializing on the editorial pages. Today\u2019s journalists are basically propagandists for the Democrat Party. The sad part is, people like Graff don\u2019t understand that no one believes anything they say any longer. Their credibility is shot.<\/p>\n

“CBS News is naming Bari Weiss Editor in Chief, which will make CBS News useless. She is indisputably biased towards Israel. In fact, that’s why she was hired.” (<\/b>The Young Turks<\/b><\/em> host Cenk Uygur<\/b><\/a>) <\/b><\/p>\n

CBS News is already useless. As for Uygur? He hates Israel and supports what Hamas did 2 years ago. This is the problem for most of the Progressive Liberal Journalists. They are racists and antisemitic and think that Israel needs to be destroyed and the Jews exterminated. They just won\u2019t say that part out loud for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n

“Pray for 60 Minutes. It is the most indispensable news entity we have and it is about to be overseen by someone who thinks we need to give equal weight to people who argue that the earth is flat and to people who argue that the earth is round.” (Democratic strategist and frequent CNN guest Julie Roginsky<\/a>) <\/b><\/p>\n

60 Minutes was once a decent news show. It was designed to provide long form reporting on stories that a 1 or 2 minute blurb just didn\u2019t provide enough information. That was the design. It very rarely attained that goal. More often then not, they simply made things up or deliberately took things out of context. It was the recent settled lawsuit by President Trump that showed that 60 minutes, and CBS News, needed a good cleaning out. This is what Bari Weiss was brought in to do. I expect that we sill see resignations first, followed by layoffs. We shall how things work out in the next few years.<\/p>\n
