Most of these crimes tend to occur in what are called \u201cGun free zones.\u201d These are areas that idiot politicians, almost always Democrats, have decreed that no one but law enforcement and criminals will be allowed to exercise their 2nd<\/sup> Amendment right to bear arms. Another term for these ares is \u201cTarget rich environment.\u201d<\/p>\n For years the FBI has been saying that armed citizens really don\u2019t stop criminals in these situations. The Legacy Media, aka the Democrat Propaganda Corps, aids in this be not reporting when a citizen uses a firearm to stop a crime in progress, especially if it stops a lunatic trying to shoot up a school or a shopping mall. Now a new report is out showing that armed citizens stop far more attacks then the FBI and others would have you believe. Here are the details from WokeSpy<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n A decade-long review by the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) said armed citizens have stopped active shootings at least 10 times more often than reflected<\/a> in commonly cited federal tallies, arguing that defensive actions by private individuals are significantly undercounted in official and media summaries. <\/b><\/p>\n In an update released Monday and shared with Washington Secrets, the center reported that good Samaritans halted 36% to 62% of active-shooter incidents from 2014 through 2024, compared with 3.7% in the Federal Bureau of Investigation\u2019s published reports. The CPRC attributed the gap to definitional limits and classification choices in federal data. <\/b><\/p>\n I\u2019m not at all surprised. Gun control and suppression of the 2nd<\/sup> Amendment has been the goal of the Deep State for over a century. The primary, if unsaid reason is simple. The 2nd<\/sup> Amendment was written to ensure that the Average Citizen would have the tools they needed to defend themselves, their neighbors and the country from foreign attack, crime and in a worst case scenario, from their own government. The last thing that the \u201cRuling Elites\u201d want is their serfs and slaves having any means of defending themselves from the State.<\/p>\n The group said the FBI\u2019s approach excludes situations where an armed citizen displays a firearm but does not fire, even when the display stops an attack. <\/b><\/p>\n That is a major miss. What the FBI is saying is that they only count something as self defense if a criminal is shot and probably killed. This is not the purpose of a person carrying a firearm. If you carry a firearm and reach the point where you perceive a threat, you don\u2019t always have to shoot.<\/p>\n The goal is to stop the attack. If you draw and don\u2019t fire, and the assailant runs away, then the goal has been achieved. Better still, no shots have been fired. This is what usually happens. Criminals generally don\u2019t want to get shot and will run away. The citizen is generally not going to pursue since that isn\u2019t their job. (There are exceptions where you need to follow the criminal, however that is a case by case situation)<\/p>\n The center also said certain cases were categorized as being stopped by \u201cprofessionals\u201d when the individuals were unpaid or volunteer security, which the CPRC counted as armed citizens. <\/b><\/p>\n Most of these people aren\u2019t \u201cProfessionals.\u201d They are just people who offered to provide security while also attending whatever event was taking place.<\/p>\n The FBI defines an active shooter as one or more individuals actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a public place, not involving gang violence or some other crime such as robbery. Such an incident could be something as minor as one person being shot at and missed up to a mass public shooting. <\/b><\/p>\n That is another thing that needs to be reviewed. The FBI\u2019s description doesn\u2019t match what the average person considers to be an active shooter.<\/p>\n While the FBI includes cases where civilians stop active shooters, the news media frequently relies on the limited number of these cases to argue that such interventions are rare,\u201d said the report. <\/b><\/p>\n The legacy media, aka the Democrat Propaganda Corps general policy is that the 2nd<\/sup> Amendment needs to be ignored and anything that proves it\u2019s worth must be suppressed.<\/p>\n \u201cEvidence compiled by the Crime Prevention Research Center shows that the sources the media relied on undercounted the number of instances in which armed citizens have thwarted such attacks by an order of more than ten, saving untold numbers of lives.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n That is a major undercount. That isn\u2019t something that was a misjudgment, it had to be intentional and political. As anyone who owns firearms knows, the goal is preventing or stopping an attack. If that can be accomplished without firing or even drawing a firearm, then it\u2019s a success. It\u2019s called deterrence.<\/p>\n Of course, law-abiding citizens stopping these attacks are not rare. <\/b><\/p>\n According to the CPRC, there were at least 561 active-shooter cases between 2014 and 2024. In those, the center said, armed citizens stopped 202 incidents. <\/b>By comparison, the FBI listed 374 active-shooter incidents in the period and reported that 14, or 3.7%, were stopped by an armed citizen. The CPRC said its audit identified 42 active-shooter incidents the FBI overlooked and 145 others it said were missed. <\/b><\/p>\n That is a major miscount. This doesn\u2019t appear to be accidental or a mistake in the methodology, it looks to be intentional.<\/p>\n The organization wrote that its intent was to present a fuller accounting of defensive interventions by civilians rather than to criticize federal officials, and it urged a wider discussion of how such encounters are categorized. <\/b><\/p>\n You may not want to criticize federal officials, but the rest of us have no problem doing so. The WokeSpy story goes into more details along with additional statistics. They just aren\u2019t saying the quiet part out loud. The FBI and other Federal agencies have not just downplayed defensive use of firearms by citizens, they have flat out lied about it.<\/p>\n There can be only one reason to do so. Politics. The Democrat Party has controlled most of the Deep State for decades. They have also been pushing the stripping of the right to keep and bear arms from the American people for well over 100 years. Many Democrats have been very straightforward and stated for the record that they would send in the military to forcibly disarm the American people.<\/p>\n However, the tide has turned and slowly, ever so slowly, the 2nd<\/sup> Amendment is being restored as a fundamental right. The Supreme Court has, of late, tried to play a balancing act, but several members have said that the right to keep and bear arms is absolute.<\/p>\n The recently passed \u201cBig Beautiful Bill\u201d had a section that ended the $200 tax on suppressors, short barreled rifles and other firearms covered by the NFA. However, the register is still in place and people buying these items are still required to get fingerprinted, and submit their items to be registered. This has triggered a number of lawsuits that all boil down to one thing.<\/p>\n Registering these items is unconstitutional per the Supreme Court\u2019s own ruling almost a century ago. They upheld the registry and the requirements as a means to track the taxable items. Now that the tax has been removed, the plaintiffs in these cases are saying that, by the Supreme Court\u2019s own decision, the requirement and the registry are unconstitutional.<\/p>\n The Democrats are, of course, continuing to ignore the Constitution and not only bring back the tax, but increase it to $4709<\/a>. The goal is not to raise funds, but to make it to expensive for the average person to buy these items, which was the original goal when the NFA was passed back in the 1930\u2019s and $200 was big money.<\/p>\n The times have changed. The Democrats and the Deep State are politically, on the run. Because of this, they are now resorting to threats and violence. With the attempted assassinations of President Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, along with the realization that when seconds count, the police aren\u2019t coming, people are now buying guns and, more importantly, getting training in using them as well as working their legislatures to enact castle doctrines as well as expand them to your cars, and stand your ground laws where you do NOT have a duty to retreat.<\/p>\n This report, along with others and what people are seeing is yet another black eye for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I won\u2019t bother listing all of their issues. What I will say is that Director Patel and Deputy Director Bongino have a lot of work ahead of them. Cleaning up the way statistics are generated may not be high on the list of things to do, but it has to be on the list.
