It\u2019s this secrecy that is driving the Democrats bonkers…again. They are demanding to know why they, or at least the leadership wasn\u2019t informed prior to the raid\u2019s initiation. We all know the reason of course, but here are the details from Fox 4<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Following the early Saturday operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro in Caracas, Democratic members of Congress lamented not being notified of the mission ahead of time.<\/b><\/p>\n Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va., vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, suggested the raid might have violated the rule of law.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cWhen we abandon those principles, even in the name of confronting bad actors, we weaken our credibility, endanger global stability and invite abuses of power that will long outlast any single presidency,\u201d Warner said.<\/b><\/p>\n No you moron, it didn\u2019t violate the law. What it violated was the Democrat\u2019s self importance.<\/p>\n Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, offered a similar reaction.<\/b><\/p>\n Oh God, here again. I\u2019ll be glad to vote for her Republican replacement.<\/p>\n \u201cThe American people and Congress deserve transparency and real, concrete answers about what is happening in our own hemisphere,\u201d she said. \u201cWe need to hear directly from the president on why his varying justifications to date warrant dragging America into an armed conflict without a clear end.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n What conflict? There are no American troops on the ground in Venezuela. It\u2019s hard to have a conflict when no one shows up. Now what happened is simple. The United States engaged in a live fire drill outside the United States, and during the drill, they happened on a wanted criminal. They held the criminal until law enforcement officers could take him into custody, give him his Miranda warning and then transport him to a federal facility where he is being held pending his trial. That\u2019s all.<\/p>\n \u201cWe need to know how President Trump will prevent Maduro\u2019s lieutenants and criminal gangs from filling the power vacuum that his unilateral action is likely to create.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n How does \u201cNot our problem.\u201d strike you? If this isn\u2019t what you want to hear, then it sounds like you want the United States to deploy a large military force into Venezuela, or am we misunderstanding you?<\/p>\n Why weren\u2019t lawmakers notified?<\/b><\/p>\n Oh I think we know why.<\/p>\n It has been customary, though not always followed, to notify the so?called \u201cGang of Eight\u201d members of Congress of covert operations. The group includes the chairs and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, in addition to the House and Senate party leaders.<\/b><\/p>\n While in practice the full Congress is often briefed before major military action, the Pentagon can limit briefings to the Gang of Eight when actions are considered covert.<\/b><\/p>\n Which is what the Pentagon did. The limited the briefings to no one in Congress. Once the raid was done, and our people were safe, then the notifications were made.<\/p>\n Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the decision not to notify lawmakers beforehand.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cWe called members of Congress immediately after,\u201d Rubio said. \u201cThis was not the kind of mission you can do congressional notification on \u2014 it was a trigger?based mission. It\u2019s just not the kind of mission that you can pre?notify because it endangers the mission.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n And there it is. Secretary of State Rubio just said the quite part out loud, in a politically polite manner. The Democrats have so much hate for President Trump and the Republican Party that they would have blown the operation in a heartbeat.<\/p>\n Congress has a long history of getting people killed because they can\u2019t keep their big mouths shut. One of the most notorious cases was a loudmouth representative from Kentucky, Andrew J. May, (A Democrat of course), who in June, 1943, held a press conference and announced that our submarines in the Pacific were safe from the Japanese because the Japanese were setting their depth charges to shallow.<\/p>\n As soon as that story came out, the Japanese navy corrected this error. It\u2019s estimated that May\u2019s big mouth cost us 10 submarines and 800 sailors. Vice Admiral Charles A. Lockwood, commander of the US submarine fleet in the Pacific later said:<\/p>\n \u201cI hear Congressman May said the Jap depth charges are not set deep enough,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cHe would be pleased to know that the Japs set them deeper now.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n I would like to report that Andrew May was tried for treason and shot, however it was decided to not say anything in case it might confirm what the Japanese believed. May lost his reelection in 1946 and was tried on bribery charges after the war, was convicted and served 9 months in prison.<\/p>\n While I doubt that the May Incident was considered by President Trump and the people involved in planning the raid, it\u2019s not unreasonable to believe that some treasonous loudmouth, probably a Democrat, would have done something to blow the operation.<\/p>\n Instead, the Trump Administration used President Trump\u2019s usual habit of loud hyperbole to misdirect what was going on. Apparently, blowing the narco-boats out of the water was all part of the plan to misdirect Maduro and it looks like it worked. Although the Democrats are going to be loathed to admit it, President Trump played them like a fiddle.<\/p>\n The Democrats, and a couple of RINO\u2019s were s angry at the use of Nacor-boats for target practice, including the famous double-tap, that all focus was off of any sort of a raid. They were all screaming that President Trump was going to invade Venezuela. Well, guess what? He didn\u2019t. Now the Democrats are once again spewing their sour grapes. Guess what losers?
