One pair of idiots are Thomas Homer-Dixon and Adam Gordon. The wrote an Op-Ed in the Globe and Mail asserting that Canada needs to prepare for an American invasion. Here is what these clowns had to say<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Donald Trump promised that under his leadership the U.S. would eschew \u201cnation building<\/a>,\u201d \u201cforever wars<\/a>,\u201d \u201cregime change<\/a>,\u201d and violent foreign engagements more generally.<\/b><\/p>\n

Why yes, he did. Currently, the United States is not in any forever wars and we are generally trying to reduce our deployments overseas. He hasn\u2019t been doing any regime change, although I suspect arresting Maduro counts as such to you. As to violent foreign engagements? We might have to discuss what you mean by that.<\/p>\n

Yet since his second inauguration, he\u2019s ordered military action in Syria, Yemen, Somalia and Iraq; bombed Iran\u2019s nuclear weapons complexes; and blown up more than a score of boats allegedly carrying drugs in the Caribbean. In just the past two weeks, he has launched missiles against Islamic terrorists in northern Nigeria, declared that the U.S. was \u201clocked and loaded\u201d for another attack on Iran, and now decapitated Venezuela\u2019s government.<\/b><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take this apart shall we? The recent action in Syria was a response to some morons who attacked an American military unit. Until that happened, we were looking to pull out of Syria. Yemen has been firing missiles at American ships and into Israel. The first thing you need to remember is, \u201cNever mess with America\u2019s boats. It won\u2019t end well.\u201d As for going after Islamic terrorists, this is only because they keep being terrorists and murdering unarmed men, women and children who aren\u2019t Muslims.<\/p>\n

As for Iran, we will not let that lunatic regime have nukes under any circumstances. Do you know why? Because those goat raping lunatics will actually use them. They will only delay until they can put together enough warheads to his the United States, Israel and probably flip a few into Europe for good measure. Then there is the small detail that Iran keeps declaring war on the United States. President Trump took them at their word.<\/p>\n

Regarding using the Narco-boats for target practice, we have decided that enough is enough and that we will do whatever it takes to keep that poison out of the United States. You don\u2019t like that? Tough shit.<\/p>\n

Now about Operation Yoink and the arrest of Maduro. There was no regime change. Maduro was already under indictment and this was just an arrest of a wanted criminal. If this had been a real regime change, the entire Venezuelan leadership would be under arrest or very dead. Instead, the vice president, who, like Maduro, wasn\u2019t legally elected, has stepped into office as president, just the way it works in the United States if something happens to the President.<\/p>\n

In this context, Canadians must acknowledge the real risk that Mr. Trump will use military coercion against our country.<\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to connect three recent data points. First, in his press conference on Saturday, Mr. Trump explicitly stated that the Venezuela operation\u2019s aim was to secure access to the country\u2019s oil<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

No, actually, he didn\u2019t. We don\u2019t need Venezuela\u2019s oil and if these morons had any clues whatsoever, they would know that Venezuela\u2019s oil is \u201cSour\u201d and requires specialized refining. We have refineries that can handle it because, America, but we don\u2019t need it. The goal of Operation Yoink was to arrest Maduro and his wife on outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

Then, in an interview with The Atlantic<\/a> on Sunday, he refused to rule out military action to seize Greenland \u2013 despite the fact that Greenland is a democracy and, through Denmark, a NATO member \u2013 saying, \u201cWe do need Greenland, absolutely.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

There is a less than zero chance that President Trump would use the Military and take Greenland by force. His goal is to buy it with the agreement of the people of Greenland. If, for some unknown reason, we were to actually invade and take Greenland, it would also mean transporting all the residents off the island and back to Denmark. It\u2019s also not worth the trouble. But, please, feel free to entertain us with your delusions.<\/p>\n

From Mr. Trump\u2019s perspective, three dominant powers \u2013 Russia, China, and the U.S. \u2013 are establishing coercive hegemony<\/a> in their respective domains. With its oil, minerals and water, Canada is a vital resource hinterland in the U.S.\u2019s part of the map.<\/b><\/p>\n

It would be nice to have, but not worth the trouble to go after. We also don\u2019t need it. We have more than enough in the United States, once we get the Libtards out of the way so we can actually exploit those resources.<\/p>\n

Second, the just-released U.S. National Security Strategy<\/a> outlines the \u201c\u2018Trump corollary\u2019 to the Monroe Doctrine\u201d and identifies U.S. \u201cpre-eminence\u201d in the Western Hemisphere as a main geostrategic objective.<\/b><\/p>\n

In case you haven\u2019t noticed, it\u2019s called the Monroe Doctrine after James Monroe, the 5th<\/sup> president of the United States. We have been upholding that doctrine for 200 years. It\u2019s not a recent idea.<\/p>\n

But Canada can\u2019t count on exclusion from the doctrine\u2019s ambit. In the 1950s through the 1980s, when the U.S. intervened<\/a> in Guatemala, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Chile, Nicaragua, Grenada, and Panama, it was looking south and treated us as more an irrelevancy than a vassal.<\/b><\/p>\n

That\u2019s because you are irrelevant. The Gulf of America and the Caribbean are, strategically, far more important then Canada is. About the only use for you, besides Maple Syrup and Canadian Bacon, is a location for early warning radars in case of ICBM attack, and even that is becoming less relevant these days.<\/p>\n

In contrast, today the Trump administration has little affection for Canada, and it\u2019s clearly concerned about geostrategic insecurities as far north as the high Arctic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not that we have little affection for Canada, it\u2019s that we just don\u2019t care about you all that much. Yes, the Arctic regions are important, and we have Alaska. We are looking to secure the arctic and it\u2019s resources, yes. Do we need Canada? Not really.<\/p>\n

Third and finally, nothing in international law protects Canada that shouldn\u2019t have protected Venezuela. As a nation, we rely on exactly the same rules<\/a> \u2013 the obligation to respect state sovereignty<\/a>, the prohibition on use of force<\/a> and the principle of non-intervention<\/a> \u2013 for our own safety.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ahh yes, the Libtards favorite phrase. International Law. Now Canada is, I believe, a signatory of the Rome Accords and accepts the authority of the International Criminal Court. We don\u2019t and never have. The idea of international law is something cooked up by the Eurotrash to try and show that they are still relevant. They aren\u2019t and haven\u2019t been since the end of World War 2.<\/p>\n

Now these to geniuses come up with a scenario where the United States would send in the military. Currently, the Province of Alberta, which is awash in resources like oil, is looking to break away from Canada. They\u2019ve been treated like trash and serfs by the Progressive elites in Ottawa and have had enough. They are looking at a vote for independence. This is all accurate. What isn\u2019t accurate is the scenario these to pinheads have dreamed up.<\/p>\n

An independence referendum in Alberta \u2013 during which separatists receive a huge infusion of grey MAGA money \u2013 sees a majority vote to remain part of Canada, but with 30 per cent or more voting for separation.<\/b><\/p>\n

Problem one. We aren\u2019t going to spend a dime on a pro or anti independence vote. Now for problem two. The majority chooses to remain part of Canada. This is where these to stuck their heads into a bucket of Colombian Marching Powder and inhaled deeply, and repeatedly.<\/p>\n

Mr. Trump declares the result is \u201cfake\u201d and that actual support for separation was \u201cwell over\u201d 50 per cent. Alberta separatists then appeal to the U.S. for help, claiming various kinds of oppression. The U.S. moves troops to the northern Montana border and tells the rest of Canada that Alberta must be allowed to join America as the \u201c51st state.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

That is not going to happen. Everyone generally believes that Canadian elections are generally honest and secure, perhaps more so then ours are. A number that high, provided the polls were pointing in that direction and not the other, would show that it was an honest vote. As to stationing troops in Montana? Not happening.<\/p>\n

From what everyone who has been paying attention has been seeing, if Alberta breaks away, they really aren\u2019t interested in joining the United States and quite frankly, I\u2019m not sure we really want them. I do see the United States developing a close relationship with Alberta and working with them to develop their natural resources and creating a broad economic infrastructure. Going in with the military costs money.<\/p>\n

These two stage IV terminal TDS sufferers then lay out their ideas for \u201cProtecting\u201d Canada from President Trump. Basically they are calling on the Canadian government to ramp up the military, institute a draft…excuse me National Service, and making alliances with countries like Taiwan, Finland, the Baltic States and Mexico.<\/p>\n

First, making a defense alliance with Taiwan wold really tork off the People\u2019s Republic of China. Mexico is essentially a failed Narco state run by the Drug Cartels. Finland is going to look at today\u2019s Canada and basically go \u201cThanks, but no thanks.\u201d Then they come up with this gem regarding \u201cInternational Law.\u201d<\/p>\n

We should aim to marshal a global consensus that such flagrant violations of international law are unacceptable and will bring the U.S. costly reputational harm, as has been true for Russia \u2013 harm that will only grow exponentially if the U.S. repeats such actions in Canada or elsewhere.<\/b><\/p>\n

As usual, these progressive retards think that there is such a thing as International Law. What are they going to do? Go whine to the United Nations? Try and impose Sanctions on the United States? Would you care to guess who would be hurt by those sanctions? Here\u2019s a hint. It won\u2019t be the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cRunning\u201d Venezuela \u2013 whatever that means \u2013 will almost certainly not work in the longer term, as the country fractures or rallies against the U.S.; and elsewhere in the world, China might use the action against Venezuela as a license to attack Taiwan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t running Venezuela. We have no troops in Venezuela. We are, I assume, working to restore the rule of law, the democratic process and get a legitimate government in place, once chosen by the Venezuelan people. By the way, you are aware that Maduro and his thugs lost the last election, but stole the election and stayed in office anyway? Somehow, I doubt that you do. As for China invading Taiwan, they don\u2019t need a \u201cLicense.\u201d If they decide the time is right, they will do it anyway. There won\u2019t be any discussions, just a massive missile barrage and then an invasion.<\/p>\n

But whatever surprises are in store, one fact is certain: our neighbour\u2019s autocratic and avaricious leader is demonstrably eager to use his country\u2019s massive military power to advance his interests. We must get ready.<\/b><\/p>\n
