Of course, the EPA would like to shut down ALL human activity in the United States, and probably would like to see most of the people dead as well.

Sounds extreme doesn’t it? Well, I don’t know what else I can make of their recent pronouncements. Just look at what the Star-Telegram is reporting:

New EPA rule could lead to rolling blackouts in Texas, PUC chairwoman says

The head of the Texas Public Utility Commission expressed concern Friday that a new federal air quality rule, set to take effect Jan. 1, will cause disruptions in electric service.

If implementation of the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule is not delayed, “I have no doubt in my mind that this rule will result in reliability issues and rolling outages in Texas,” Donna Nelson said at the start of the commission’s meeting.

These rules won’t do much for air pollution but will force a number of power generation plants offline. Now I don’t know anyone who wants dirty air, but these plants will need to be replaced or upgraded. The problem is, this takes time and money. The morons running the EPA don’t care and won’t listen.

More from the Star-Telegram:

Dallas-based power generator Luminant says it doesn’t have enough time to comply and has asked that the EPA delay implementation.

The company says the industry’s standard time frame for installing emission controls is several years, but the rule requires compliance in six months. So Luminant, a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings, has said it may have to shut down some coal-fired power plants in East Texas.

As usual, federal bureaucrats with absolutely no knowledge of or experience in the field are ramming job destroying regulations down American’s throats. Under the True Believers in Human Caused Global Warming Obama appointed head of the EPA, Lisa Jackson, job destroying regulations have been pushed out that have little or no basis in science.

Texas has been a big target for the EPA and the Obama administration. Under a Republican legislature with a Republican governor, they have managed not only to keep their unemployment low, but Texas is one of the few states that has been creating new jobs. This really pisses off “The One” and his Marxist cronies and they have been doing whatever they can to basically destroy Texas. Now, they have the chance to kill the economy of Texas and they’re going to take it.

The Texas PUC is trying to get these rules either delayed, or preferably stopped.

From the Star-Telegram:

In an Aug. 4 letter to the EPA, Nelson said that the new rule is “overly burdensome” and that the federal agency “has ignored the effects of local transmission constraints when considering the impact of generating-plant retirements on electric reliability.” Nelson became the PUC’s chairwoman after former Commissioner Barry Smitherman was appointed to the Texas Railroad Commission last month.

PUC Commissioner Kenneth Anderson said Friday that the tight implementation schedule for the rule “will be impossible to meet” and urged that the state agency “file comments with the EPA asking them to, at the very least, extend the compliance deadline.”

Fat chance of that happening. These power mad thugs don’t care what the reality is, they are going to force their religious belief in Global Warming Climate Change down everyone’s throats. They will make sure they have all the energy they need. In their puny little minds, who cares if Texas and other states won’t have the power they need.

Again, from the Star-Telegram:

For the short term, Texas’ power grid continues to be taxed by exceptionally high temperatures that have led to record-high electricity demand this summer, the PUC was told Friday by Mike Cleary, senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

Cleary said power supplies could be tight next week with schools reopening and adding about 1,500 megawatts of additional demand.

ERCOT ((ERCOT is the name management company handling power grid in Texas)) set an electricity demand record of 68,294 megawatts on Aug. 3.

I know people who work in the energy sector and they are both terrified of what this means and ripping mad about it as well. The Federal government, especially the EPA has no clue what they are doing, and frankly is now actively hostile to the states and people. If Rick Perry wants to be president, he needs to do a few things first.

Tell the EPA to take their rules and stuff them where the sun doesn’t shine.

Tell the energy sector in Texas that he will do whatever it takes to protect their plants and personnel from Federal intervention. This may include deploying Texas law enforcement and Texas National Guard troops to the plants and offices of the energy producers with orders to stop Federal agents from interfering in energy generation.

Announce publicly that if elected to the office of President that he will either severely curtail the EPA or close it down all together. ((This will require congressional approval))

There have been jokes made in Texas about it seceding from the Union. (Some are serious, but most just like to talk) With Obama and his cronies running the regulatory agencies and actively working to turn the United States into a Socialist Workers Paradise run by highly educated elites, that talk might become serious.

Without a doubt, these idiotic rules will be challenged in court and just as certain, judges will rule against Texas using the bogus Commerce Clause section in the Constitution. I say bogus because under Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the Commerce Clause was turned on its head. Thanks to FDR’s threat to pack the Supreme Court, and the flat out cowardice of the justices, the door was opened to giving the Federal government virtually unlimited power over the states and the individual.

We are in very dangerous times, both in this country and the world. If things don’t change in the United States, well, a lot of people talk about pushing the Second Amendment Reset button. It’s always been just talk with no real seriousness behind it. Hopefully, we can hold out until the next election and vote out Obama and his fellow travelers in congress. The LAST thing anyone wants, (anyone sane that is), is a second American Civil War. The first one was bad enough thank you.

That is all for now. Perhaps Emperor Misha from the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler will see this and add his highly advanced literary skills to the discussion.

~The Angry Webmaster~

(2 votes, average: 1.00 out of 5)
Loading...

Fuel Fix » Power grid reserves drop below 2500 megawatts

If Texas reaches a Level 1 emergency, there are at least two more safeguards before ERCOT would call for rolling blackouts.
