Good day all. Since he returned to office, President Trump has been talking about buying Greenland from Denmark. Denmark is saying no and the actual people on Greenland are…mixed. President Trump has been ramping up the rhetoric with rumors that he would invade.<\/p>\n

That is unlikely. Sending in the Marines would defeat the whole purpose of the deal. While we could do it, it would probably require removing almost all of the residents of Greenland and sending them to Denmark. Tha would be something else we don\u2019t want to do. Instead, we want to tap all the resources that Denmark is denying the resident of Greenland and make them filthy rich.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, while pushing for a deal, President Trump is happily indulging in his favorite pastime, trolling the opposition. Now we have another fun idea. A bill is now in Congress to make Greenland the 51st<\/sup> state. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A House Republican is pushing for Greenland to become the country’s 51st state as President Donald Trump<\/a> publicly pushes for the Danish territory to come under U.S. rule.<\/b><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think rule is the idea that President Trump and others are contemplating for Greenland. That is pretty much what they are dealing with now. As either a territory or a state, they would be just like any other territory or state, administered locally with some administration from the Federal government as defined by the Constitution.<\/p>\n

Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., is introducing a bill on Monday aimed at authorizing Trump “to take such steps as may be necessary” to acquire Greenland and set it on the pathway of becoming part of the United States.<\/b><\/p>\n

“I think it is in the world’s interest for the United States to exert sovereignty over Greenland,” Fine told Fox News Digital in an interview.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Representative Fine, unlike the idiot journalist from Fox Digital who wrote this story, understands the nuances. Exerting Sovereignty is what we have in the 50 states and several territories.<\/p>\n

“Congress would still have to choose to make it a state, but this would simply authorize the president to do what he’s doing and say the Congress stands behind him. And then it would expedite it into becoming a state, but it would still be up to Congress about whether to do that.”<\/b><\/p>\n

I have a question on statehood. Isn\u2019t there a minimum population that has to be resident before they can apply for statehood? It has to do with representation in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio<\/a> said Wednesday that he would be meeting with officials from Denmark this week to discuss Greenland.<\/b><\/p>\n

Oh to be a fly on the wall for that meeting. Rubio has proven to be a surprisingly good Secretary of State. I\u2019m sure the Eurotrash are all set to sneer at Secretary Rubio. I suspect that Rubio is prepared to diplomatically wipe their sneers right off their collectivist faces.<\/p>\n

Trump has publicly pushed for the idea of the U.S. buying the Arctic island territory since his first term in the White House. <\/b>He and other Republican officials have pointed out its strategic importance, including Greenland’s proximity to Russia<\/a> and the critical minerals located within its borders.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minerals alone make bringing Greenland under the American umbrella worth the cost of buying the place. Denmark and the EU, when they are not trying to commit genocide against the native Greenlanders, the Inuit, are impoverishing them by denying them the ability mine the resources and sell them.<\/p>\n

Fine agreed with those points while also arguing U.S. rule would be better for those living in Greenland as well.<\/b><\/p>\n

“Their poverty rate is high. Denmark hasn’t treated them well,” Fine said. “When war came to town, Denmark couldn’t protect them. Guess who protected Greenland during World War II? We did.”<\/b><\/p>\n

And while a majority of Republicans have conceded they understand Trump’s argument for why owning Greenland would benefit the U.S., GOP lawmakers were somewhat rattled after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt<\/a> did not rule out using military force to acquire the island during a recent press conference this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

Of course he didn\u2019t rule it out. You never announce ahead of time what you won\u2019t do. It doesn\u2019t mean that we are going to send in the Marines next Tuesday. Using the military would defeat the whole purpose of the acquisition. We would have to deport pretty much the entire population back to Denmark and then bring in new people. It\u2019s far better to have them become part of the United States willingly.<\/p>\n

“The poverty rate in Greenland is much, much higher than it is in Denmark. The country is run by socialists, and it is not in America’s interests to have a territory that large between the United States and Russia run by socialists,” Fine said.<\/b><\/p>\n

I have an idea. I propose we consider a trade with Denmark. We get Greenland, anyone who wants to leave is always free to do so and we would buy them out at fair market value. (Which Denmark would tax the bejeesus out of) In exchange, we give them Puerto Rico. Consider that Puerto Rico is warm, has some great beaches and tourist attractions.<\/p>\n

It would certainly be better then Greenland. It\u2019s cold, cloudy, most of covered in ice and I think they might have some polar bears looking for some Danish. Yes, I think that wold be the deal President Trump should make. A simple trade. What do you think?<\/p>\n
