Good day all. With the arrest of Don Lemon on charges of violating the rights of church goers in St. Paul Minnesota, the Left has gone absolutely ballistic…again.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

Lemon was part of an organized raid into a church with the intention of disrupting the services and scaring the attendees. Lemon went in and basically browbeat the pastor of the church, filming the entire incident. Shortly afterwards, the organizers were arrested on warrants signed by a magistrate.<\/p>\n

The same magistrate refused to sign the warrant for Lemon and several others. The DoJ went to a real judge and were turned down again. At this point, the DoJ went to a Grand Jury and secured an indictment. One of the things I\u2019ve heard, but have NOT verified, was that the judge recommended going the Grand Jury route when he turned down the warrant request. I dn\u2019t know if this is true or not. In any case, with the Indictment, Lemon was busted.<\/p>\n

It was at this point, once the news broke, that the \u201cUsual Suspects\u201d started screaming that Lemon\u2019s 1st<\/sup> Amendment rights were being suppressed. Note that they didn\u2019t consider the same 1st<\/sup> Amendment regarding the rights of those in the church. Anyway, here are the details from Newsmax<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The far left and much of the mainstream media lost it Friday after federal agents arrested former CNN anchor Don Lemon over his role in the takeover of a St. Paul\u00a0church.<\/b><\/p>\n

Attorney General Pam Bondi flatly\u00a0defended the arrest,<\/a> stressing that Americans have the “right to worship freely and safely.”<\/b><\/p>\n

That is another section of the 1st<\/sup> Amendment. You have the right to practice your faith. This is one reason Muslims haven\u2019t been shutdown in this country even though that religion is more of a political movement masquerading as a religion. But, you have to take the bad with the good. However, Lemon\u2019s lawyer doesn\u2019t seem to consider the rights of the church goers.<\/p>\n

But Lemon’s attorney, CNN, and other vocal liberals quickly cried foul, claiming the arrest amounted to an attack on the First Amendment.<\/b><\/p>\n

“The FBI’s arrest of our former CNN colleague Don Lemon raises profoundly concerning questions about press freedom and the First Amendment,” the network said in a statement<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lemon’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, described Lemon’s takeover of the church as “constitutionally protected.”<\/b><\/p>\n

I hate to be the one to break it to Lowell, but it isn\u2019t. If both the protesters and Lemon had stayed outside of the church, they could have made as much noise as they wanted and no one wold have cared. When they stormed into that church, they basically trespassed onto private property and interfered with their 1st<\/sup> Amendment rights.<\/p>\n

Former CNN anchor Jim Acosta echoed that claim,<\/a> calling the arrest “outrageous” and declaring, “the First Amendment is under attack in America.”<\/b><\/p>\n

Jemele Hill of The Atlantic also had a meltdown.<\/b><\/p>\n

“This is horrifying. I don’t care what your political beliefs or leanings are, what journalism outlet you represent, this absolutely cannot stand,” she argued while dismissing\u00a0the religious beliefs of those affected by the takeover.<\/b><\/p>\n

That isn\u2019t at all surprising. These so called journalists have, for the most part, never actually read the Amendment and either don\u2019t know or don\u2019t care about the freedom of religion section. Just to help them, here is the actual text of the 1st<\/sup> Amendment:<\/p>\n

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

As you can see, that is primarily aimed at the Government interfering with the right to speak what passes for your mind. However, the right of free speech and press isn\u2019t absolute. In fact, Washington Gun Law stepped out of his usual channel of discussing the 2nd<\/sup> Amendment to talk about Don lemon, his arrest and the 1st<\/sup> Amendment.<\/p>\n
