Once again, Irish descended Americans celebrate Saint Patrick\u2019s converting the heathen of Ireland to Christianity. March 17<sup>th<\/sup> is the date reported that he died.<\/p>\n<p>Present day Saint Patrick&#8217;s Day celebrations have been greatly influenced by those that developed among the Irish diaspora, especially in North America. Until the late 20th century, Saint Patrick&#8217;s Day was often a bigger celebration among the diaspora than it was in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, most of Ireland doesn\u2019t pay much attention to Saint Patrick\u2019s day. In the United States? It\u2019s a big deal. Everyone wears green and for a day, everyone is Irish, much to the annoyance pf actual citizens of Ireland.
