Cuba\u2019s power grid has pretty much collapsed. They\u2019ve run out of bailing wire and duct tape and unlike Fidel Castro on Viagra, they can\u2019t keep it up. The Cuban people have had enough and are taking to the streets. This has led the usual suspects from the American and European Left to show their support of the cause.<\/p>\n
Not of the common people, but of the Communist Regime. To really rub it in, these elitist jerks are staying in a five star hotel with a generator that the average Cuban is not allowed in. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Far-left activist groups and personalities flocked to Havana, Cuba, this week in an effort to protest the economic sanctions imposed on the country by President Donald Trump<\/a>‘s administration.<\/b><\/p>\n President Trump? Try John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The United States has had sanctions in place for decades.<\/p>\n The far-left group CodePink sponsored flights to the communist-led island, and the group was joined by Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar<\/a>, D-Minn., and left-wing Twitch streamer Hasan Piker, an ally of democratic socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The group has faced heavy backlash for staying in expensive hotels to meet with government officials even as Cuban residents go without electricity.<\/b><\/p>\n Some delegates in the “Nuestra America Convoy,” including Piker, were staying at the 5-star Gran Hotel Bristol Meli\u00e1 Collection<\/a> and similar resorts. Piker defended the move on social media, saying U.S. law required that they stay at the ritzy hotels.<\/b><\/p>\n “The American government makes it illegal for Americans to stay wherever they want when they’re in Cuba,” Piker told his followers. “They have to stay in what they’ve declared as 5-star hotels.”<\/b><\/p>\n That isn\u2019t entirely accurate. In fact, it\u2019s pretty much a load of horse manure as others were quick to point out.<\/p>\n The claim received swift pushback on social media, with an X Community Note saying that U.S. law<\/a> only prevents Americans from staying at venues owned by the Cuban government or its officials.<\/b><\/p>\n So Commies lied? I\u2019m shocked, Shocked!<\/p>\n CodePink says it delivered thousands of pounds of aid to Cuba as part of the trip, which was organized by Cuban politician Mariela Castro and a nonprofit called Progressive International, according to the New York Post.<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n I have no doubt that if any such aid was delivered, it went straight into the hands of the government and not a single average person saw any of it.<\/p>\n The group’s arrival to Cuba, and subsequent flood of social media videos, came the same weekend that The Cuban Electric Union announced a total blackout across the island<\/a> on Saturday.<\/b><\/p>\n The one place that wasn\u2019t blacked out? Their hotel. They have a generator and fuel to run it. The hospitals? They\u2019re out of luck and so are any patients in them.<\/p>\n Now the Left has been screaming that the United States is going to invade Cuba. Granted, we\u2019ve had plans, constantly updated going back to 1962. However, since the fall of the Soviet Union, there really hasn\u2019t been any reason to do so and the Pentagon not preparing to launch an invasion. Why bother when they are collapsing on their own?<\/p>\n Cuban officials have continued to blame U.S. sanctions for the country\u2019s economic hardships, while analysts say the government is facing mounting pressure from ongoing blackouts, shortages of basic goods and growing public frustration.<\/b><\/p>\n The United States doesn\u2019t trade with Cuba. Other countries can, but apparently don\u2019t. Why not you might be asking? The simple answer is that Cuba after almost 70 years of Communism has nothing that anyone wants. Cuba is an economic basket case and lives on the handouts of others. Just like the Soviet Union, it\u2019s going to end up on the ash heap of history soon enough. As for Code Pink?
