Good day all. I heard about this a few weeks ago, but until recently, hadn\u2019t seen a story detailing things. Colorado is now requiring what amounts to a state loyalty oath for lawyers who are e-filing with the courts.<\/p>\n

Colorado for the last 10+ years, has been trampling the constitutional rights of people who don\u2019t follow Progressive dogma. They have been trying to force people and businesses to go against their own beliefs if they want to stay in business. A number of these have ended up in court, and the Supreme Court has hammered Colorado repeatedly. This doesn\u2019t seem to have sunk in to the libtards ruling the state. Now if a lawyer wants to e-file with the courts, they have to swear on pain of perjury that any information they gather won\u2019t be used to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Here are the details from Just The News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

C<\/b>olorado has an unenviable track record on First Amendment issues at the Supreme Court in the past decade, with lopsided rulings in favor of professionals compelled to participate in same-sex weddings and affirm gender confusion in minors,\u00a0most recently 8-1<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think I need to specify which justice was the holdout. While you can go and look it up, there is only one who has demonstrated such complete incompetence and misunderstanding of the Constitution.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

That hasn’t stopped the Centennial State from pushing the envelope on subsequent speech mandates: a sanctuary-state loyalty oath for Colorado lawyers and a public accommodation law that allegedly restricts what businesses can say about the biological differences between men and women.<\/b><\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t sound very constitutional to me, and I\u2019m not the only one who has serious questions about it.<\/p>\n

Legal experts and one known Trump administration official are closely scrutinizing\u00a0last week’s implementation<\/a> of Senate Bill 25-276, which requires Colorado lawyers to certify annually “under penalty of perjury,” as a condition of e-filing in state court, they won’t use “personal identifying information” from the system to help federal immigration enforcement such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/b><\/p>\n

Colorado religious liberty lawyer Ian Speir<\/a> shared his unwelcome discovery that\u00a0he couldn’t log into the system on behalf of clients<\/a> “without saluting The Resistance,” despite the fact that his cases “have absolutely nothing to do with immigration law or policy.”\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Another Colorado lawyer, self-proclaimed\u00a0“gangster of love” Matt Barber<\/a>, also attested to being confronted with the “indefensible” announcement when he tried to log in.<\/b><\/p>\n

Obviously, and thankfully, I\u2019m not a lawyer, however this gives me, someone totally unschooled in legal matters, some real concerns. Lawyers are there to represent their clients and it appears that this requirement is actively interfering with a lawyers duty to his or her client. In any case, Colorado, which used to be a nice state, has been taken over by communists and other assorted idiots who can\u2019t seem to learn from their mistakes, and they\u2019ve made a lot of them.<\/p>\n

Colorado lost 9-0<\/a> when its state Supreme Court removed then-presidential candidate Donald Trump from the ballot in 2024, and its regulators are “0-3 at SCOTUS in fighting culture wars,” Shapiro said, likely referring to Colorado’s losses in First Amendment litigation by cake designer Jack Phillips, website designer Lorie Smith and licensed therapist Kaley Chiles.<\/b><\/p>\n

The totalitarian left ruling Colorado has been trying to destroy anyone who has traditional values. As I recall, Jack Phillips has been dragged into court by leftists because he didn\u2019t care to provide services to certain people. Colorado’s loyalty oath for lawyers appears to be the first of its kind in the nation, though a few states have implemented lawyer speech codes based on the\u00a0American Bar Association’s Model Rule 8.4(g<\/a>), which lawsuits allege create a chilling effect on what lawyers can say out of the courtroom without being subject to discrimination and harassment complaints.<\/b><\/p>\n

The American Bar Association is starting to lose influence as states begin questioning their actions towards lawyers who don\u2019t toe the progressive line. Lawyers who worked for conservative groups or even the President of the United States in their capacity as lawyers, have be fined, and in a few cases, disbarred. It wasn\u2019t that the lawyers were doing anything unethical. It was that they dared represent people that the Libtards hated.<\/p>\n

When a lawyer is either disciplined or disbarred, people assume they did something really bad. They may have been incompetent. They might have stolen money from their clients. They may have been involved in a criminal activity. Now the various state and federal bar associations are punishing political activity they don\u2019t agree with.<\/p>\n

The Just The News story goes into a lot of legal details that, frankly, I don\u2019t fully understand. What I do understand is that the Democrats are once again moving to punish anyone who won\u2019t follow the Progressive, Totalitarian commands that they are telling people to obey. We are now beginning to see people who are trying to seek legal help being turned away by lawyers. They simply can\u2019t risk their livelihood if they take a case that goes against the orders of their Progressive masters.<\/p>\n

If this and other moves by the Democrats aren\u2019t stopped, there will be consequences. People will decide that they have no other choices and nothing to lose. That is exactly what we do not want to see. Sadly, I think that something bad is probably going to happen, if not in Colorado, then somewhere else and it will be really really bad.<\/p>\n
