Good day all. I while back I jokingly created an image of a $100 bill with President Trump\u2019s face on it. As part of the 250th<\/sup> birthday of the United States of America, the Treasury is preparing to issue a $250 bill. Now there are proposals to put President Trump on the bill.<\/p>\n

As I understand it, this would be something new. Not the $250 bill, but that a living individual would be on the banknote. Apparently, this is raising some legal issues. Here are the details from Newsmax<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Treasury Department office responsible for printing the nation’s money “is conducting appropriate planning and due diligence”\u00a0in response to proposed legislation that would allow President Donald Trump to appear on a $250 bill.<\/b><\/p>\n

Trump administration officials have been pushing the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to prepare prototype designs for a commemorative $250 note featuring the president’s portrait \u2014 a move that would mark the first appearance of a living person on U.S. paper currency in more than 150 years, The Washington Post<\/a> reported Thursday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Without question, when the Democrat Propagandists at the Washington ComPost heard about this, they went absolutely, stark raving bonkers.<\/p>\n

The proposal is tied to upcoming celebrations marking America’s 250th anniversary in July and reflects Trump’s broader effort to leave a lasting imprint on U.S. institutions and patriotic commemorations.<\/b><\/p>\n

Honestly, I don\u2019t know that this was President Trump\u2019s idea, although I don\u2019t doubt when he heard about it he was fully on board with it.<\/p>\n

The report said U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and senior adviser Mike Brown repeatedly encouraged bureau staff to move forward with mock-up designs despite longstanding federal laws prohibiting living individuals from appearing on American currency.<\/b><\/p>\n

That\u2019s the good thing about laws like this. They can be changed.<\/p>\n

British artist Iain Alexander, who said he created the mock-up after discussions with Trump, told the paper the president personally approved modifications to the design, including patriotic red, white, and blue accents and a logo honoring America’s semiquincentennial celebration.<\/b><\/p>\n

Excuse me? A Brit designed the mock ups? I seem to recall that one of the things we\u2019re celebrating was inviting the British to leave and to take their tea with them.<\/p>\n

The 1866 Thayer Amendment bars living people from appearing on U.S. paper currency after a Treasury official famously placed his own image on a banknote during the Civil War era.<\/b><\/p>\n

The restriction grew partly out of America’s rejection of monarch-style traditions common in Europe, where reigning kings and queens routinely appeared on currency.<\/b><\/p>\n

Now there is another reason to put President Trump on the bill. Just think of all the paid protesters out there screaming \u201cNo Kings!!\u201d and they are being paid with the Trump Buck. Talk about mass strokes and coronaries.<\/p>\n

Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., introduced a bill earlier this year directing the Treasury Department to create a $250 Federal Reserve note featuring Trump’s image, though the measure has not yet advanced.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Treasury, while it can put together mock ups of new bills, can\u2019t actually begin the work to print them. That would require an act of Congress. I really doubt the Democrats would allow any such bill to pass and be sent to President Trump for his signature. Still, if played right, the GOP can make the Democrats look completely foolish in their rantings and ravings.<\/p>\n

The proposal comes as the Trump administration also prepares to issue U.S. currency bearing Trump’s signature for the first time.<\/b><\/p>\n

Supporters argue the effort appropriately honors Trump’s role in what allies call America’s “Golden Age economic revival,”\u00a0while critics claim the move risks politicizing national symbols.<\/b><\/p>\n

I just checked a bill and While I see the secretary of the treasury\u2019s name on it, I don\u2019t see the president\u2019s signature. I\u2019m actually rather surprised. I would have thought that putting the President\u2019s name on a bill was always done.<\/p>\n

Currency experts caution the process could take years because of security requirements, Federal Reserve coordination, and ATM compatibility testing.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is in regards to the $250 bill. Changing the signatures on bills is done every time a new treasury secretary takes office.<\/p>\n

Still, administration officials appear eager to move forward as preparations intensify for the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.<\/b><\/p>\n

I would like to see a $250 bill in circulation, even if it doesn\u2019t have the picture of the Greatest President of the 21st<\/sup> Century, Donald Trump, on it. Even better if they can put President Trump\u2019s image on the bill. Just think how tough it would be for Liberals to actually use it.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t actually expect to see this happen of course. However, I can see President Trump using this to troll the Democrats and a few RINO\u2019s. Most people will see this and understand that President Trump is having some fun and really doesn\u2019t expect this to actually happen. Still, it might be entertaining to start calling your Congress Clowns and pushing to put President Trump\u2019s face on the $250 bill. Who knows? It might just happen, and then we can expect this from the usual suspect on the left.<\/p>\n
