When the current head of the EPA was sworn in, he brought in some of DOGE\u2019s people to start looking at the books. They found 10\u2019s of billions of dollars in funds that should never have been granted and have clawed back nearly $30 billion so far. Now the EPA has sent criminal referrals to the DoJ for investigation. Here are the details from Just the News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n E<\/b>nvironmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin says he has made several criminal referrals after uncovering a major political enrichment scandal that routed billions in Biden-era green energy grants to Democrat cronies. \u201cIt’s about self-dealing,\u201d Zeldin tells <\/b>Just the News.<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n Zeldin said he has canceled or stopped about $29 billion in EPA grants \u2013 including one for $2 billion to a nonprofit tied to longtime Georgia Democrat election activist and failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams \u2013 after unmasking a series of pass-through groups used to route taxpayer monies to the politically connected.<\/b><\/p>\n I remember the Abram\u2019s story. I even wrote something about it<\/a>. Sadly, she isn\u2019t under arrest…yet. Hopefully, she is on the list of referrals.<\/p>\n \u201cAs you look through all of these pass-through entities, you’re seeing so many connections to former Obama and Biden administration officials and Democratic donors, people who were former Cabinet members, other high-ranking administration officials,\u201d he said during a wide-ranging interview Monday on the <\/b>John Solomon Reports<\/b><\/em> podcast.<\/b><\/p>\n Without question these were kickbacks. The Democrat party, especially under the Clintons, Obama and the Bidens, saw the treasury as their own personal piggy bank. They also had to repay all the money, with a lot of vigorish<\/a>, to their \u201cDonors.\u201d After all, those shell companies weren\u2019t set up to just gather dust you know.<\/p>\n Zeldin said some of the allegations have their roots in legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, when Congress and the White House were all in Democrat hands. \u201cThey included all of this funding in this so-called Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. And then they would work with these different agencies of the Biden administration to get it out to their unqualified friends. The whole thing just feels criminal,\u201d he said. \u201c[\u2026] This is clearly something that falls into the category of blatant waste and abuse.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n You can call it waste and abuse. I call it a continuing criminal enterprise.<\/p>\n Zeldin has repeatedly singled out the Biden administration’s $2 billion grant to Power Forward Communities, a nonprofit tied to the former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abrams. The funds were awarded in 2024 to finance “residential decarbonization,” which was an effort to replace gas furnaces and other appliances with electric ones.<\/b><\/p>\n That thing was a flat out scam. That nonprofit, when it received the grant, had about $100 in the bank. Next thing, they are sitting on $2 billion dollars. Abrams had done no fund raising, they had no real plans, nothing. It was just a money laundering scam.<\/p>\n The award came under scrutiny after it was revealed Power Forward Communities<\/a> had reported only $100 the year before the award. The Trump administration’s EPA announced in February 2025 it was taking measures to get the money back as part of an overall effort to claw back funding rushed out the door in the final days of the Biden administration.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n The last days of the Biden Maladministration make what happened when the Clintons looted the White House look like minor breakage. As I recall, the Clintons literally walked off with the White House silverware. I have little doubt that Felonia is kicking herself on the amounts they could have stolen. Well, the Bidens have always been a corrupt family. They make the Corleone\u2019s look positively honest.<\/p>\n Abrams, who worked for a group called\u00a0Vitalizing De Soto that was tied to Power Forward,\u00a0has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, saying the grant was intended to help homeowners to buy eco-friendly appliances.<\/b><\/p>\n Zeldin\u2019s quest for accountability began in spring 2025 when his agency revealed that Biden rushed out $20 billion in the greenhouse gas reduction fund to be held in an account by the New York-based Citibank, with just eight nonprofits having the right to spend it.<\/b><\/p>\n The $20 billion in funding has been canceled, but it is tied up now in federal court litigation. To date, no major criminal prosecutions have been brought against grant recipients.<\/b><\/p>\n Hopefully, that will soon change. As to the civil side, I haven\u2019t followed the case so don\u2019t know much about it. I did a quick search and found that the case was being handled by the Obama judge Tanya Chutkin and she ruled against the claw back<\/a>. (Big surprise there of course. I wonder how much she was going to get?) The administration appealed and in a 2-1 ruling Chutkin was reversed<\/a> and the administration was able to get the money back. The case is continuing though.<\/p>\n Zeldin said he is confident that when all litigation is complete most of the $29 billion in grants he has flagged and blocked will be returned to the Treasury as savings for taxpayers.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cWe’re not taking money from left-wing NGOs to give them to right-wing NGOs,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is about getting that money back to the taxpayer. This is about making sure that that money coming through an agency like EPA doesn’t have any amount of waste and abuse, that there’s a zero tolerance for it.”<\/b><\/p>\n As you might imagine, the party of Grifters, aka the Democrats, are unhappy about this. They have seen a lot of their \u201cOff the books\u201d funding dry up, starting with the shut down of USAID after DOGE went through and found it was nothing more than a money laundering agency.<\/p>\n People have been complaining that they aren\u2019t seeing DOGE working any longer. There is a reason for this. The DOGE auditors were meant to come in and develop tools for actual government auditors and, to be honest, take the heat for the inevitable assaults by the Democrats. Now we\u2019re beginning to see actual criminal investigations starting.
