The H1B visa program was created in 1990 under the Immigration Act of 1990<\/a>. The act was put together by the Infamous womanizer, drunkard, traitor and murderer, Edward Moore Kennedy<\/a>. It was signed into law by President George H.W. \u201cRead my lips, no new taxes\u201d Bush. Considering those two, I\u2019m not surprised that one of the most abused visas was pushed through.<\/p>\n It really took off during the Y2K problem<\/a> when it was discovered that computers might fail on January 1st<\/sup>, 2000. There was a mad scramble to correct the issue and a lot of retired programmers came back as contractors and made a ton of money. Because of that, businesses started looking to bring in H1B\u2019s to help out. Initially, the program worked as designed, but soon after, businesses discovered that they could replace expensive American workers with cheap, underpaid foreign workers.<\/p>\n It became quite common for major companies to lay off hundreds of Americans and then replace them with H1B\u2019s, and, to rub salt into the wounds, force the American workers to train their replacement if they wanted any severance packages. I\u2019ve written about H1B\u2019s and their abuse for a long time<\/a> and there is no need to revisit it.<\/p>\n One of the things that President Trump has been trying to do is reform the H1B system back to what it was intended to be. A system that allowed a few individuals with a needed skill to come into the United States on a temporary measure. Obviously, the Chamber of Commerce, The Deep State, Big Tech and the Democrats want to ramp up and increase the number of H1B visas. Well, they might want to look at this and rethink their plans. Here are the details from Lifezette<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n A sweeping investigation by Indian law enforcement has unveiled<\/a> an industrial scale racket producing fake college degrees, many of which reportedly ended up being used to secure coveted H1B visas for employment in the United States.<\/b><\/p>\n Authorities say this sprawling network, touching at least 28 universities, sold counterfeit credentials across medicine, nursing, and engineering fields, calling into question the integrity of thousands of visa applications.<\/b><\/p>\n Now we are looking at a potential threat to human life. If these diploma mills were handing out fake degrees for people in medical fields, that can get people killed. I have no idea if any of these frauds made it over here, but they might have gone to work and killed people in India. The goal was to get these people over here on the H1B visa program.<\/p>\n Indian officials say they have seized roughly 100,000 bogus certificates so far, with one university suspected of issuing more than 36,000 fraudulent documents by itself. The cost was shockingly low for such a high stakes deception.<\/b><\/p>\n The cost for one of these fake degrees? $1400 dollars. Now to an American, that is cheap. For someone in India? Yeah that is a bit on the pricey side, but if they make it over here, they will make a tone of money, albeit, less than an American or permanent resident alien. They wold be able to pay it back in a matter of weeks or a couple of months.<\/p>\n The implications stretch far beyond India. The H1B visa system, established for \u201cspecialty occupations,\u201d requires at least a bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent as a cornerstone of eligibility. Under U.S. immigration law, this is not negotiable. A fake degree does not just embellish a resume, it defrauds the system itself, voiding both the employer\u2019s certification and the government\u2019s approval.<\/b><\/p>\n There are already a number cases of corporations defrauding the H1B system. One was Walmart last year. I wrote about that debacle<\/a> at the time. Of course, the Deep State, Corporate America and the Legacy Media has swept all that under the carpet.<\/p>\n The revelation threatens to pour fuel on an already heated policy debate in Washington, where lawmakers have introduced new bills aimed at tightening verification of foreign degrees and imposing more scrutiny on applicants from high risk regions.<\/b><\/p>\n Reports have already shown that more than 80 percent of H1B hires in recent years have gone to junior or entry level positions, contradicting the program\u2019s supposed mission to import only highly skilled workers for specialized roles.<\/b><\/p>\n The reason for this is simple. Companies who bring in H1B\u2019s are looking for cheap labor. Competent is a nice to have. It\u2019s also fraud. If a business brings in an H1B in an entry level job, they basically have a low paid slave. If they hired an American or legal resident alien, (A person with a green card), they would have to pay them more.<\/p>\n Once the person is trained up, they might ask for more money or move on to greener pastures. H1B visa holders are locked to the employer. If they lose the job, they have, I believe, 60 days to leave the country. This is why they want someone on an H1B. If they want to stay in the United States, then they have to just accept the abuse that their \u201cEmployer\u201d dishes out on them. (Work related. If they tried anything else, like forcing their attentions on the H1B, then a criminal act has happened and then the visa holder is a witness to a crime. They\u2019re here until the case is settled)<\/p>\n Fake degrees allowed middlemen to make enormous profits while customers gained access to better jobs and immigration pathways. It is a grim example of how fake paperwork can distort legitimate economic mobility across borders. For U.S. taxpayers, the scandal raises hard questions about the enforcement capacity of both immigration and labor agencies.<\/b><\/p>\n I think it\u2019s time to end the H1B program. The amount of fraud involved is, in my not so humble opinion, irrecoverable. The program can not be reformed. I think the time has come to start applying pressure to members of congress.
