I’ve been to Des Moines. Actually I flew into and drove out of Des Moines…as fast as I could.

Here is what the Register had to say:

Sobriety, wisdom and judgment.

Those are qualities Mitt Romney said he looks for in a leader. Those are qualities Romney himself has demonstrated in his career in business, public service and government. Those qualities help the former Massachusetts governor stand out as the most qualified Republican candidate competing in the Iowa caucuses

Uh huh. Yeah, right. Let’s dig into this a bit shall we? First, the qualities Mittens claims to look for are what everyone looks for in a leader. Pity Mittens isn’t a leader. Granted, we won’t be referring to him as “Hindmost” ((Pierson’s Puppeteers)) if he should somehow con his way into office, but I’ve seen him operate. He isn’t that great.

To continue:

Sobriety: While other candidates have pandered to extremes with attacks on the courts and sermons on Christian values, Romney has pointedly refrained from reckless rhetoric and moralizing. He may be accused of being too cautious, but choosing words carefully is a skill essential for anyone who could be sitting in the White House and reacting to world events.

Well now, since Obomney is a Mormon and Mormons do not partake of adult beverages ((That would be booze for you in Rio Linda)), I would expect him to be sober all the time. As to his choosing his words carefully, this is more likely not saying anything so he won’t be seen flip flopping his positions…again.

To continue:

Wisdom: Romney obviously is very smart. He graduated as valedictorian at Brigham Young University and finished in the top 5 percent in his MBA class at Harvard, where he also earned a law degree. Romney also exhibits the wisdom of a man who listened and learned from his father and his mother, from his church and from his own trials and errors in life. He does not lack self confidence, but he is not afraid to admit when he has been wrong.

First, I will acknowledge that he is smart. That isn’t an issue. It IS and issue with Obama, who has hidden his transcripts. I wasn’t aware that he had gone to law school though. Frankly, the last thing we need is another law school grade in Washington. A lot fewer is preferred. As to not being afraid to admit he is wrong?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I have one word on that. “Romneycare ((Massachusetts health care reform)).” This disaster is destroying the Massachusetts healthcare system and everyone with 4 functioning brain cells, (Which takes the entire Massachusetts political class out of the running), knows it is an abject failure. Romneycare is the basis for Obamacare, hence the new term for it, “Obomneycare. ((A term coined by former Presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty))” Romney has been given many chances to repudiate that disaster and has always waffled, whiffed and dodged. This is one reason people don’t trust him. They are afraid he won’t repeal this disaster inflicted on us by Obama and the Democrats.

Finally:

Judgment: Romney disagrees with Democrats on most issues, but he offers smart and well-reasoned alternatives rather than simply proposing to swing a wrecking ball in Washington. He is a serious student of public policy who examines the data before making a decision. His detailed policy paper on the economy contains 87 pages of carefully crafted positions on taxes, energy, trade and regulatory policy, complete with 127 footnotes.

I question his judgment. First, see my response regarding Obomney willing to admit he’s wrong. Second, Obomney has always judged things by how he can use it to get ahead, or into the Oval office. The comment by the Register saying that they like his “Well-reasoned alternatives rather than taking a wrecking ball to Washington.” completely misses the general feeling of people in “Flyover Country ((Flyover country)).” We WANT to take a wrecking ball to Washington. It is long past trying to reform Washington, it’s time to symbolically blow it up, set fire to and then bulldoze the rubble. Pouring salt on the ground is optional at this time.

There is a radio tak show host I listen to on occasion named Howie Carr ((Howard L. Carr)). He is not a liberal, but he is supporting Romney. Howie usually gets it right, but with regards to Mittens, he is wrong. He thinks Romney will win the nomination, but fails to understand just how despised Romney is with most of the Republican base. They flat out do not trust him. Now Howie is based in Massachusetts, and that does color his views a bit. I will endeavor to educate him of course. I don’t think he’s beyond help.

Now, the corn-fed clowns on the Editorial board who came up with this drivel are part and parcel of the out of touch Mostly Stupid Media. I’m sure they actually believe their opinion actually means something.

Hate to tell you guys, but it doesn’t. Romney will be an utter disaster and if nominated, stands a good chance of losing to “The One.” If he wins and proves to be another disastrous RINO ((Republican In Name Only)), it will probably spell the end of the Republican Party. There is a good chance the Conservative wing will finally say “Enough!” and break away and form a third party. My guess is they might fully organize the Tea Party groups into a new political party since they are half way there.

At this point I don’t know who I want to run on the Republican side. Since the Democrats, true to form, lynched Herman Cain for daring to flee the liberal plantation and think for himself, I’m not sure who I want.

Of course, there is the slim chance of a brokered convention. Anyone thinking of a “Draft Palin!” movement? 😉

Until Next Time.

~The Angry Webmaster~

(2 votes, average: 1.00 out of 5)
Loading...

Well, Mittens Obomney has picked up an endorsement from The Des Moines Register.
