Good day all. Well it looks like Obama has decided to void the 1st<\/sup> Amendment and has ordered the Catholic Church to start providing birth control and abortion services from all the Catholic hospitals and offices.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I think he has finally picked a fight that he can\u2019t win.<\/p>\n

Now for the Due Diligence. I am Catholic, but a pretty bad one. About the only time I go into churches is for weddings and funerals. When I was a child, my parents tried to pressure me into becoming s priest. I never got that call of course and frankly I like girls, especially Mrs. Webmaster. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

I also despise Obama and everything he has done to this country, but if you have been following my scribblings, you have probably figured that out already.<\/p>\n

Now some background.<\/p>\n

The Catholic Church in America tends to be rather left wing. If I recall correctly, the church had a problem with some Liberation Theologians ((Liberation Theology<\/a>)) and Pope John Paul II had to excommunicate a few of them ((Internal criticism from the Church<\/a>)). While the church was able to tone down some of the more Marxist priests, they have generally supported the Welfare state here in the U.S. (It lifted the burden of helping the poor from the various churches) When Obama started pushing Obamacare, they were all for it. I don\u2019t\u2019 recall any instructions one way or the other from The Vatican and frankly they were busy cleaning up the mess from the Pedophile Priest scandal ((Catholic sex abuse cases<\/a>)).<\/p>\n

There was some concern from the Church regarding forcing the Church to provide birth control and abortion services, but the Obama regime promised that this would not be forced on religious organizations. As we all know now, Obama\u2019s promises come with a shelf life.<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks ago Obama\u2019s HHS ((Health and Human Services<\/a>)) secretary, Kathleen Sebelius issued regulations ordering the Catholic Church to provide birth control, sterilizations and abortion services. This is in direct opposition to 2000 years of Church Doctrine.<\/p>\n

To say that the brown organic waste material has hit the impeller would be an understatement. The Cardinals and Bishops have flat out refused to obey the regs and have essentially declared war on the Obama tyranny<\/em><\/span> administration. If Obama and his thugs force the issue, then one of several things can happen.<\/p>\n

First, the Church will stop offering any insurance at all. This would fit Obama\u2019s plans perfectly since it will force people into Obamacare. The second possibility is a flat out refusal by the church to comply with the edict. They continue providing insurance but won\u2019t obey the mandates.<\/p>\n

There is also the court challenge and this is guaranteed to happen. The odds of the church winning are quite good I\u2019ve read. This is a classic violation of the First Amendment. Of course, Obama and the Democrats don\u2019t care about the constitution.<\/p>\n

The Catholic Leadership is speaking out now and doing so loudly. From CBS News New York<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Catholic leaders upped the ante Monday, threatening to challenge the Obama administration over a provision of the new health care law that would require all employers, including religious institutions, to pay for birth control.<\/p>\n

Catholic leaders are furious and determined to harness the voting power of the nation\u2019s 70 million Catholic voters to stop a provision of President Barack Obama\u2019s new heath car reform bill that will force Catholic schools, hospitals and charities to buy birth control pills, abortion-producing drugs and sterilization coverage for their employees.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I would say this understate just how enraged the clergy is over this dictate.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever before, unprecedented in American history, for the federal government to line up against the Roman Catholic Church,\u201d said Catholic League head Bill Donohue.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I don\u2019t know why Mr. Donohue is so surprised. Liberal Democrats despise religion in general and the Catholic Church in particular.<\/p>\n

Already Archbishop Timothy Dolan has spoken out against the law and priests around the country have mobilized, reading letters from the pulpit. Donohue said Catholic officials will stop at nothing to put a stop to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is going to be fought out with lawsuits, with court decisions, and, dare I say it, maybe even in the streets,\u201d Donohue said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

About those letters. Copies were sent to all military chaplains who were catholic priests. Today an order came down forbidding them from reading it to the troops. Here\u2019s the story from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Army said Tuesday that a request for chaplains not to read a letter in Sunday Mass that expressed disapproval of a new regulation in the Obama administration’s health care law was not an attempt to “censor,” but rather a cautionary move to preserve “military order and discipline.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah sure it was.<\/p>\n

“The Chief of Chaplains was concerned that one line in the 456-word letter could be misinterpreted as a call to civil disobedience within our nation’s military ranks,” the statement said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I really don\u2019t think our troops would mutiny over this. There\u2019s so much more they could act on with the current regime<\/em><\/span> administration in Washington.<\/p>\n

Of course, President Jug Ears and his gang of scum flat out don\u2019t care what the Catholic Church things. They know that a majority of Catholics votes democrat. However, they might have misjudged the rage that this has engendered. Even their own loyal minions are saying this has gone to far. Democrat Operative Kirsten Powers wrote in her column on the Daily Beast:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to escape the feeling that the Obama administration is trying to run America\u2019s Catholic charities and institutions out of business.<\/p>\n

How else to explain the mean-spirited decision mandating that Catholic institutions be required to pay for health insurance that covers sterilization, contraceptives, and the \u201cmorning-after pill,\u201d which violates their fundamental religious beliefs?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kirsten Powers has always been a very liberal person. I\u2019ve seen her on Fox a few times and she can always be counted on to toe the party line. Here, we have a person, a liberal democrat turning against her masters. And to top it off, Ms. Powers isn\u2019t Catholic.<\/p>\n

Obama may have finally overreached. He has been courting the Hispanic vote, but he seems to have forgotten that a large majority of them are Catholic. The Church was very busy in South America after Cortez arrived. They might finally decide that the Democrats do not represent them. (How they ever thought they did is beyond me.<\/p>\n

Now I read that if the Church walks away from providing insurance, they could be hit with massive fines. Since the Democrats have the same feelings towards Christianity that the Nazi\u2019s had towards Jews, I don\u2019t think they care. Destroying the Church in the United States would be a good thing as far as they\u2019re concerned.<\/p>\n

Or is it?<\/p>\n

Former Democratic congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, a Catholic from Erie, Pennsylvania has announced that she regrets her vote for Obamacare. Of course, that vote cost her her seat in the House, but somehow I think she might actually mean it.<\/p>\n

From The Weekly Standard:<\/p>\n

“I would have never voted for the final version of the bill if I expected the Obama Administration to force Catholic hospitals and Catholic Colleges and Universities to pay for contraception,\u201d Dahlkemper said in a press release sent out by Democrats for Life in November<\/a>. “We worked hard to prevent abortion funding in health care and to include clear conscience protections for those with moral objections to abortion and contraceptive devices that cause abortion. I trust that the President will honor the commitment he made to those of us who supported final passage.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sorry Ms. Dahlkemper, your trust in Obama actually keeping his word is misplaced. Surly you have seen just how often he actually keeps his word to people when it goes against what he actually wants to do? Obama lied to you to get what he wanted, and once that was done, he discarded you like you discard used underwear.<\/p>\n

To quote Bruce Willis as his character John Mclane ((Detective John McLane<\/a>)) after he tosses a dead terrorist out a window and on to the car of a disbelieving police officer:<\/p>\n

\u201cWelcome to the party Pal!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Pity you\u2019re arriving when everyone else is leaving.<\/p>\n

This might just drop Obama\u2019s impending defeat to an even lower level. It might also cost a number of Democrats who might have survived the 2012 election their seats as well. People have had it.<\/p>\n
