Ethics really aren’t high on the list for either party, but the Republicans at least try. The Democrats? Not so much.

Now, what has brought this on you might ask? In this case it is the actions of two candidates for federal office, their actions or words and how they are being handled. In the first case is the really stupid remark made by Missouri Representative Todd Akin. He is running for the United States Senate against incumbent Claire McCaskill. From what I’ve read, this race should have been like shooting a duck with a nuke. Them Akin said this in an interview last weekend.

“It seems to me first of all, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Akin told KTVI. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

When that hit the airwaves, internet and water coolers, the Republicans demanded that he withdraw his candidacy. So far Akin has refused. He is trying to do his version of the Obama Apology Tour. It may be to late for him though. He should have just manned up, admitted that he said something incredibly stupid, apologized and moved on, or out. Instead, he’s been hiding. (Probably from GOP hit squads who want him out)

On the Democrat side, we have Minnesota state representative Rep. Kerry Gauthie. In his case, he lived down to the political phrase, “The only way to get rid of him is to catch him with a live boy or a dead girl.” In this case, he was caught with a live boy.

A Minnesota state lawmaker who authorities say admitted having a liaison with a 17-year-old boy at a rest stop faced calls from party leaders on Monday to give up his re-election bid.

Rep. Kerry Gauthier, 56, hasn’t been charged in the July incident, and authorities said he wouldn’t be because the boy was older than 16, the legal age of consent, and no money was exchanged. Police say the teenager responded to the lawmaker’s Craigslist ad for “no strings attached” sex.

Gauthier admitted to the liaison, according to police reports made public late last week. The teen told police the two had oral sex, according to the reports.

Now there have been calls for this clown to step aside, but there has been nothing like the outcry across the board for Akin’s head. This isn’t surprising since the Progressive elites on the left don’t see a problem with Gauthier’s actions. But then they really aren’t that upset with the shooting last week by a moonbat who went into the offices of the Family Research Council in Washington DC. On the other hand, the Nazi scumbag that shot up a Sikh temple is being called “A typical right-wing TEA party member.” Of course, anyone who knows anything about Nazi scum understands that they are just as left wing as the communists.

No, this is the typical double standards of the Left. If Republican says something stupid, he must be jailed asap. If a Democrat does something illegal, well then it’s really not that important. For instance. Take Randy Cunningham, former representative of California, is currently doing time for corruption. This was a damn shame since he is also a real hero.

Another disgrace to the Republicans was Larry Craig. He was a Senator from Idaho when he was picked up for solicitation in an Airport men’s room. As soon as the Republican party found out they went for his head and demanded that he resign. Like Akin, he refused to “do the right thing” and leave. He left office at the end of his term.

Now consider the Democrats. Their list of corrupt Pols goes on and on. We will start with one Alcee Hastings. Hastings, who is currently in the House representing a district in Florida was, at one time, a federal judge. He was impeached and removed from the bench for taking bribes. They weren’t able to prove enough for a criminal conviction, but the smell was so bad they kicked him off the bench. So what happens? He becomes a congressman and thanks to that other Paragon of Virtue, Nancy Pelosi, was put on the House Intelligence committee. If he weren’t a sitting member of Congress, this crook would not have been able to get a security clearance.

Then we have Maxine Waters. She is currently under investigation by the House ethics committee for taking steps to get federal assistance for a bank in which Waters’ husband held stock and had served on the board of directors

Then we have Christopher Dodd, former senator from Connecticut who was given a sweetheart loan deal by Countrywide Financial for “Favorable treatment” in getting the taxpayers to take care of any problems they might have. (They had a lot) Dodd retired at the end of his term when it looked like he might be retired by the voters in Connecticut in 2012.

Then we have Barney Frank. He is a representative from Massachusetts and is arguably one of the main reasons the housing market imploded in 2008 and took down the whole economy. Back in 2002-3 the Bush administration started seeing problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and wanted to take action then to prevent just what happened in 2008. Frank led the charge saying that there was nothing wrong and that it was an evil Republican plot. Frank’s July 2008 statement that:

“I think this is a case where Fannie and Freddie are fundamentally sound, that they are not in danger of going under. They’re not the best investments these days from the long-term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward.”

was typical of him. Frank will always put himself first, the Party second and the nation and taxpayers? They don’t even show up on the list. Frank had always won reelection by large margins until 2010 when he was almost defeated. (He won by 11%, the closet election he had faced in decades) Frank actually had to break into his piggy bank and spend money to buy his reelection. He is retiring after this term.

The list of ethical lapses on both sides goes on and on, however, the Republicans seem to be quick to move against one of their own who is caught with his hand in the cookie jar. The Democrats, on the other hand, not only protect their corrupt members, in some cases they promote them.

So, you tell me. Which party is the most ethically challenged? The ones that stomp on it when it happens, or the Democrats?

Thatisall

~The Angry Webmaster~

(1 votes, average: 1.00 out of 5)
Loading...

Which party is the most ethically challenged?

Republicans

Democrats

No difference, they should all be shot

View Results

Loading ...

Yes, this is a trick question.
