Randy Lee Tenley of Kalispell, Montana! And what did the Late Mr. Tenley do to earn this award? He decided it would be a great idea to put on a Ghillie suit ((What is a Ghillie suit?<\/a>)) and walk down a highway. In the dark. With no reflectors on him.<\/p>\n

The reason this idiot did this was to try and generate fake Sasquatch ((Bigfoot<\/a>)) sightings. Here\u2019s the story by Jim Mann of the Daily Inter Lake<\/a>:<\/p>\n

A man dressed in a military-style \u201cGhillie suit\u201d who was attempting to provoke a Bigfoot sighting was struck by two vehicles and killed on U.S. 93 South of Kalispell Sunday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting,\u201d Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Schneider said. \u201cYou can\u2019t make it up. I haven\u2019t seen or heard of anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019ve included a footnote on what a Ghillie Suit is. Basically it\u2019s used by military snipers to hide from the enemy. Hunters also use them to hide from the animals they are hunting. Basically, you use one in the wilderness so you won\u2019t be seen. This is not to suit you should wear when walking down an unlit highway in the dark. The big question is, why did numbnuts decide this was a good idea?<\/p>\n

\u201cAlcohol may have been a factor,\u201d Schneider said. \u201cImpairment is up in the air.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To quote Dean Wormer, \u201cFat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through life<\/em>. ((Animal House<\/a>))\u201d So this drunken idiot is walking down the highway and:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was in the right-hand lane of travel and the vehicle was unable to avoid him and struck him,\u201d Schneider said of the first vehicle driven by a 15-year-old girl from Somers.<\/p>\n

A second vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Somers girl also struck Tenley as he laid on the highway.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now I really feel bad for these two young ladies. I have no doubt they feel totally responsible for this moron\u2019s successful attempt to win the Darwin Awards<\/a>. I want them to know that they are NOT responsible for the stupidity of others. Ladies, it wasn\u2019t your fault and while there will be an investigation, I fully expect you to be cleared.<\/p>\n

Tenley was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dead, and rather flat and squishy I suspect. It\u2019s early yet but I don\u2019t doubt this will end up on the Darwin Awards web site in the next day or so.<\/p>\n
