Greetings denizens of Anger Central, it is I the Angry Systems Administrator, the BOFH of Anger Central. So, what am I writing about today? If you haven’t figured it out from the title, then I’m sorry but there’s no hope for you and you should proceed to reduce your carbon footprint to zero as soon as possible. Remember, down, not across. 😉
Now for all of you others who have a clue, I am going to give you my first impressions of Google’s new web browsers, Chrome.
I am not impressed.
Google Chrome is a very basic web browser. It’s like Firefox with no extensions installed. The interface is minimal and rather bland.
The latest beta finally allows you to load extensions, however there aren’t that many yet and the most popular ones such as Noscript and adblock aren’t available. (I suspect that adblock or something like it will never be allowed)
One of the things people have been raving about is load time. People say that web sites load faster in Chrome. I really don’t see it. Loading the Anger Central home page seems to go slightly faster then in Firefox, but I just tried loading it in Firefox with all the extensions turned off. (Safe mode), Chrome appeared to be a few milliseconds faster, but so what?
Now I will say that I’ve grown to detest Google and all their works. Yes we have Gmail and yes we use Google Voice. However, we signed up with Grand Central long before Google bought them and the gmail accounts are only for backup purposes. (Yes we’re STILL bitter with them for accusing us of click fraud even though we tried to tell them what was going on. screw them!
Now, I am, working on this entry while in Google Chrome. One of the problems I’ve found is the fonts tend to shriong to microscopic size. I can CTRL + the browser to increase the size, but I have a plugin in Firefox that will remember each site I do this to. I haven’t found anything like this in Chrome yet.
I’ll keep playing with it and I’m sure that nitwit Webmaster will too. He has to test the site in as many browsers as he can.
Meanwhile we’ve added a couple of polls. Please vote and let us know what you think. Your opinion means absolutely nothing to Obama and the Democrats, but it may mean something to us.
Do you use Google Chrome?
- Yes (60%, 3 Votes)
- No (40%, 2 Votes)
Total Voters: 5
Do you like Google Chrome?
- Why are you asking stupid questions? Bring back the strippers! (60%, 3 Votes)
- Sort of (20%, 1 Votes)
- Not sure (20%, 1 Votes)
- No (0%, 0 Votes)
- Yes (0%, 0 Votes)
Total Voters: 5
Until next time..

Oh, one more thing. Ignore the Angry Webmaster’s comment. He didn’t even know about the poll system until after I installed it. After I told him he just sat there and drooled a bit.
Minor update. I’ve found a lot more extensions for Chrome. I’m still not overly thrilled with it in comparison to Firefox.
FYI
I use Firefox primarily, Internet Explorer 8 when I have no choice Opera on occasion and now Chrome. I will admit I like being able to load the extensions without having to reload the browser.

Nice going with that poll you moron. I saw you accidentally set it open a month from now. You should leave the web content to the professionals. :p
