The Weather Channel is missing

Good evening one and all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. I just found out that DirecTV and the Weather Channel are in a fight to the death over carriage fees. DirecTV didn’t want to cough up even more money then it already has to.

Now I use, as does pretty much everyone at Anger Central, DirecTV instead of cable. Other then a few problems now and then due to really heavy snow or rain, I’ve found it a lot better then say Comcast. On occasion, I’ve tuned into the weather channel to see what I could expect. I’ve found it pretty much useless for my needs. I don’t even bother with their mobile app, and use the Weather Underground instead.

One of the issues I have with the Weather Channel is to much junk and not enough actual weather. As I’m scrolling through the channel lists I’ll run past the Weather Channel and see some show that appears to be about boats or something. I don’t even bother to look. Then there are the commercials every 5 minutes. If they are charging for commercials, then why do they need to have DirecTV pay them more money?

I say that DirecTV should stand firm and tell Weather Channel to go pound salt. DirecTV has put their own weather show on, although I haven’t had a chance or need to look at it. Frankly, all you need is some babe in a skimpy bikini who can read weather reports. Keep them off and hey, how about passing on the savings to the subscribers by lowering the bill for once?
