Professional Politician Waxman quits

Good day all. Another ancient Politician has announced he won’t be seeking reelection this year. California Communist and all around scumbag has announced he is retiring and won’t seek reelection.

useagle3

The politician is NOT Nancy Pelosi, but someone almost as bad. Henry Waxman, after 40 years in the House of Representatives, has decided to retire. For those who are political junkies, (Like me), Waxman has always been considered an enemy of everything the United States once stood for. He is a hard left wing believer in the totalitarian power of the State and has done all that he could to make his beliefs a reality. Waxman was one of the major pushers to shove Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling America. He is the latest Democrat to decide it’s time to run for the hills before he is forcibly ejected by the voters. Here are a few details from Fox News:

Longtime Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman announced Thursday he will not seek reelection in the fall, becoming the latest architect of the Affordable Care Act to announce his retirement.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way to the shuffleboard court!

“After 40 years in Congress, it’s time for someone else to have the chance to make his or her mark,” the California congressman said in a statement.

Waxman is one of the way to many members of the government who have never in their lives held a real job. His entire adult life has been in office, either at the local, state or federal level.

Waxman will have served 20 terms in Congress by the time of his retirement. As prior chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, he was instrumental in the drafting of ObamaCare in 2009.

And like many other members, he is both taking credit and running from it as fast as he can.

In a lengthy statement announcing his decision, Waxman said he takes pride in his legislative accomplishments, listing among them the Affordable Care Act. He called its passage the fulfillment of “one of my lifelong dreams.”

I know that Waxman has been catching hell for Obamacare, much like all the other Democrats in the House and Senate. Their constituents told them they didn’t want it, and like the Progressive Liberal Elitist he always has been, he ignored their wishes. After all, there job is simple. Continue electing him to office and sending their money to the treasury. Otherwise, it was shut up and do as you’re told serf!

Waxman leaves Congress after a career spanning four decades. He also co-authored a controversial cap-and-trade bill which would have effectively charged businesses for greenhouse gas emissions. In 2012, he ran into controversy after he accused Republicans of acting “like terrorists” by trying to force the administration to approve the Keystone oil pipeline.

This is typical Waxman. He never had the best interests of the United States at the forefront of his mind. Up until December 1991, he actually had the interests of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics as his primary concern. Back then, everything he ever did was designed to hurt the USA and help the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR, he redoubled his efforts to destroy America. For instance, according to Politico:

Since Waxman arrived in the Capitol during the Watergate era, his reach has extended nationally. As the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee during the George W. Bush administration, he was a pugnacious partisan who sought to hold the White House accountable. When President Barack Obama was elected, Waxman came out on top of a bitter brawl within the Democratic Caucus when he knocked off Michigan Rep. John Dingell to chair the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he helped craft Obamacare, as well as legislation that sought to drastically slash carbon emissions.

Waxman was one of those who drank deeply of the cup of Global Warming. Like the Goracle, he saw it as a way to punish America. He backed the Kyoto Protocols ((The Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)) and tried to ram through a Cap and Trade ((Emissions trading)) system that would have crushed the economy of the United States. Recently, Australia scrapped ((Australia Shelves Cap and Trade)) their Cap and Trade system as a total failure. Like all good members of the Progressive Liberal Elite, Waxman was a firm believer in “The reason it didn’t work was that the right people, like myself, weren’t running it.” Waxman never met a government program that stripped rights and money away from people that he didn’t like.

Barking Moonbat

Now, as you might expect, there is a lot of sadness on the left wing. The Los Angeles Times gave Waxman a very nice tongue bath.

Rep. Henry A. Waxman, whose legislative record has made him one of the country’s most influential liberal lawmakers for four decades, announced Thursday that he will retire from his Westside seat, the latest in a wave of departures that is remaking the state’s long-stable congressional delegation.

During a congressional career that began when Gerald R. Ford was president, Waxman became one of the Democratic Party’s most prolific and savvy legislators, focusing on issues related to healthcare and the environment. He played a central role — sometimes over opposition within his own party — in passing laws that dramatically cut air pollution, helped reduce smoking, expanded Medicaid coverage for the poor, reduced pesticides in food, made generic drugs more widely available, helped AIDS patients, promoted the development of drugs for rare diseases and improved federal regulation of nursing homes.

Lap Lap Lap Lap slurp!

During the George W. Bush administration, Waxman established a reputation as an investigatory pit pull, staging high-profile hearings that drew headlines as well as protests from administration officials.

Funny thing about Waxman. Generally he never really delved into anything that a Democrat president did. When he decided to attack Bush, it was for the sole purpose of destroying his administration. His activities were generally a waste of time and money and their sole purpose was to gain political points and destroy Republicans. (When they weren’t doing the job for him that is)

One of the reasons Waxman may have decided to ride off into the sunset run for the hills was his narrow win in the 2012 election cycle. According to Hot Air, Waxman only won reelection by 8 points.

An interesting footnote on Waxman: His district became more conservative after the lines were redrawn as part of the 2010 redistricting. Evidently California’s Democratic legislature decided to stick him with a few more Republican voters on the assumption that, as a state institution and perennial winner, he could handle it with no sweat. It didn’t play out that way in 2012. He won by just eight points over an independent, a scent of blood in the water that attracted newbie candidates this year. A guy who’s spent his 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and half of his 70s winning elections isn’t going to risk leaving Congress by being ignominiously hauled out by voters, a fate that his California colleague Pete Stark — who also served 40 years in the House — suffered in 2012. You can’t fire Henry. He quits.

Could Waxman have won again? Probably, but I suspect it would have been an even closer election the last one. With the redistricting, the failure of Obamacare along with the rage over what it is doing to people, there may have been a chance that Henry Nostrilitis Waxman, so named for his flaring nose when he was in full rant, could lose in the general. So unpopular is Obamacare that as one of the “designers” of that pile of drek, him might have had a primary challenger. With his ego, losing in the primary would have utterly humiliated him. *evil grin* Now, with a wide open seat, there is actually an incredibly slim chance of a Republican pickup. Yes, the chances will require a microscope to see, but it’s still there.

Dancing

Goodbye and good riddance to yet another member of the Political Class. We won’t miss you, you slimy, treasonous pile of male bovine droppings.
