Talk of impeaching Obama increasing

Good day all. Over the last few weeks, we have seen the scandals relating to the Obama administration gain greater credence. We have also watched as Obama had outright ignored the rule of law and the constitutional separation of powers, essentially ruling by decree. It hasn’t helped matters that the congressional leaders have refused to confront Obama.

While there have been calls to impeach Obama for several years, mostly from the nutty end of the right, they are now increasing in number and moving more towards the center. Last week Rep. Lou Barletta raised the stakes by saying the votes to impeach Obama in the House were probably there. Here are the details from the Daily Mail:

President Barack Obama has acted so unlawfully that he ‘probably’ wouldn’t survive an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives, Republican Rep. Lou Barletta told a radio host on Monday.

‘He’s just absolutely ignoring the Constitution, and ignoring the laws and ignoring the checks and balances,’ the Pennsylvania lawmaker told News Radio 910 WSBA personality Gary Sutton yesterday.

‘The problem is, what do you do?’ Barletta continued. ‘For those that say impeach him for breaking the laws or bypassing the laws — could that pass in the House? It probably could.’ ‘Is the majority of the American people in favor of impeaching the president? I’m not sure about that.’

I would agree with Representative Barletta on Impeaching Obama. The votes are there in the house, although it would be essentially a party line vote. In the senate, with Harry Reid, there wouldn’t even be a hearing. As to the American People, you can count on the members of the Taker Class, better known as the Democrats Free Stuff Army backing Obama no matter what. Then you have the hard left which will back Obama and the Democrats even if Obama was seen murdering a baby on Pennsylvania Avenue with a video up on YouTube.

After the interview Democratic National Committee spokesman Ian Sams told a Pennsylvania newspaper that ‘while Republicans are confident a political vote as outrageous and ill-founded as this could pass, let’s not forget all the commonsense initiatives they refuse to even bring up for a vote.’

Ian Sams is typical of the PLFD. As long as the Republicans do as their told by the Democrats, things will go just fine. As we’ve been seeing in the various hearings into things like Benghazi and the IRS scandals, the PLFD’s will do whatever it takes to cover up their criminal activities.

The GOP ought to be focusing its efforts on passing legislation that would reform the country’s immigration system, raise the minimum wage and make equal pay for women a legal requirement, Sams told the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader in an email.

‘Republicans in the House are clearly committed to playing politics and relying on outrageous rhetoric instead of doing the job they were elected to do – standing up for the interests of the American people,’ he wrote.

Hey moron! Equal pay for equal work is already the law. But then you are a member in good standing of the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats, so lying is second nature to you. As to the immigration issues? You ideas are designed to collapse and destroy the United States and, (The Angry Webmaster dons his tin foil hat), institute a new order where the people are serfs to the Progressive Elites.

Ok, enough with the tin foil hat conspiracies and back to impeachment. While some members have discussed whether or not Obama should be impeached, a number of states are now beginning to demand it, especially since Obama threw open the borders and stopped enforcing the immigration laws. Recently the South Dakota Republican Party passed a resolution calling for Obama’s impeachment. According to the Argus Leader:

The South Dakota Republican Party state convention passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama Saturday. The resolution says Obama has “violated his oath of office in numerous ways.” It specifically cites the release of five Taliban combatants in a trade for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, Obama’s statement that people could keep insurance companies, and recent EPA regulations on power plants.

“Therefore, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party calls on our U.S. Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States,” the resolution reads.

Granted, this is rather political, but the very fact that these calls are growing should be concerning to the Washington Elites. If these calls to impeach continue to grow, especially after the midterm elections, along with more and more information on all the actions by the administration, then the congress will have no choice but to act. This isn’t like the nonsense with the moonbats going after Bush. Say what you like about him, (and you will), Bush kept Congress in the loop and made the attempt to follow the constitution and the law.

Now comes the tough question. Suppose the Senate flips Republican in 2015. Will a bill of impeachment actually have a chance? That’s a good question, and as it stand now, I will say no. It takes a two thirds majority to convict a sitting president in the United States Senate and considering that the Republicans will only pick up maybe 10 seats, (Unless they blow it again), they won’t have enough to convict Obama.

You might ask why not? One very big reason is Harry Reid. He is the poster child of the modern Democrat party. He has no concern about the country, only about himself and his power. (This also occurs on the Republican side, but not to the extent it does on the Democrat side) Then we have people like Senator Charles Schumer who will never, under any circumstances impeach a Democrat president. Schumer himself is someone who should be removed from office, preferably by his constituents, but through expulsion if that’s available. Expelling a member of the Senate Country Club is just as difficult as convicting the President and only rarely happens ((U.S. Constitution: Article 1, Section 5)). This means Reid and Schumer are there until their either retire due to ill health, (The voters get sick of them), or they die in office.

The only political party to turn on it’s president was the Republican party when they began the process of impeaching Richard Nixon. When Bill Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, he was acquitted. Not one single Democrat voted to convict. (Some of the more liberal Republicans also voted to acquit) The fact was Clinton was guilty and should have been removed, and would have if the Democrats had any sense of duty and honor towards the Constitution.

One of the charges against Richard Nixon was the attempt to use the Internal Revenue Service against his political enemies. ((Article 2, Section 1)) Obama not only attempted to use the IRS, he succeeded. Read the articles of impeachment that were drown up against Nixon and compare them with what we have seen coming out of the Obama administration. Obama and his fellow travelers have far exceeded Nixon when it comes to impeachable offenses. What Nixon did turned his own party against him. Nixon, seeing the writing on the wall, resigned.

Barack Obama is head and shoulders above Nixon when it comes to corruption. Not necessarily financial corruption, but political corruption. Obama has always held the Constitution he is sworn to uphold in utter contempt. When it comes to the laws, a number he has actually signed himself, well, he considers them advisory and to be ignored when he feels like it.

So, yes, Obama should be impeached, convicted and removed from office, however, unless the Progressive Liberal Fascist Democrats actually decide that the rule of law and the constitution are more important then politics, it isn’t going to happen. And there’s the problem. When our government ignores the laws, why should we obey them ourselves? That sort of thinking, and it terrifies me to say this, is beginning to grow out here in “Flyover Country.” Before that gets out of control, all means of reigning in both Obama and the Federal Government MUST be taken. If the Congress won’t listen to the people or their state governments, then the states need to call a Constitutional Convention and force the issue.
