Ebola comes to Washington?

Good day all. I just saw this little news blurb that someone who was in Nigeria not long ago is being tested for Ebola at Howard University Hospital.

With the confirmed cases in Texas, with the potential for more, this isn’t coming as a surprise. Now this has not yet been confirmed, and hopefully it will just be a case of the flu. Here are some of the details from NBC Washington:

A patient with Ebola-like symptoms is being treated at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a hospital spokesperson confirmed late Friday morning. The patient had traveled to Nigeria recently. That person has been admitted to the hospital in stable condition, and is being isolated and tested. The medical team is working with the CDC to determine whether the patient has Ebola.

Oh, I like how NBC is referring to the patient as “That Person.” How nice and elitist of them. I’ve referred to the person in Texas as “The Patient.” (At the time I didn’t have his name)

“In an abundance of caution, we have activated the appropriate infection control protocols, including isolating the patient,” said hospital spokesperson Kerry-Ann Hamilton in a statement. “Our medical team continues to evaluate and monitor progress in close collaboration with the CDC and the Department of Health.”

An abundance of caution? What a load of horse hockey! If we were going to be cautious, we would have stopped or severely restricted flights from Africa, especially from Hot Zone ((Hot zone (environment))) countries like Liberia and Nigeria. The fact that we haven’t speaks volumes about how Obama and all the other idiots in Washington think. When Anger Central asked if there was any comment on the possibility of Ebola now in the nations Capital, President Obama was not available for comment. He was last seen entering his combination plague proof bunker and indoor putting green.

Of course, a nice plague taking out our ruling political class might not be such a bad thing. Hopefully, if this patient does have Ebola, it will throw a real scare into those morons in DC. Oh who am I kidding? The only survival instincts those congressional clods have is doing whatever it takes to keep their fat posteriors in those nice cushy government chairs.
