Good day all. I have a question. How did this happen? More then 7000 illegal alien children were shipped back to their home countries without jerking tears from a sympathetic judge.
Frankly, I’m stunned that this happened. I’m not opposed to this, I’m shocked that it actually happened. Here are some of the details from the L.A. Times:
More than 7,000 immigrant children have been ordered deported without appearing in court since large numbers of minors from Central America began illegally crossing the U.S. border in 2013, federal statistics show.
Well now, I think this is what is called, “A good start.” Pity not everyone agrees with me.
The high number of deportation orders has raised alarm among immigrant advocates, who say many of those children were never notified of their hearing date because of problems with the immigration court system.
In interviews and court documents, attorneys said notices sometimes arrived late, at the wrong address or not at all. In some cases, children were ordered to appear in a court near where they were initially detained, rather than where they were living, attorneys said.
“What was a border crisis has now become a due process crisis,” said Wendy Young, president of Kids in Need of Defense, an advocacy group.
Her organization and dozens of others sent a letter in February asking the government to temporarily stop issuing removal orders when a child fails to appear in court, and to reopen cases in which deportations were ordered.
How about, NO! Does that work for you comrade? Now, to refresh your memory on how this mess started…
Unprecedented numbers of immigrant children started showing up at the southern U.S. border in the fall of 2013. Many traveled without an adult and said they were fleeing rising gang violence in Honduras and El Salvador.
In other words, we had a bunch of little urchins who were taught to use all the correct buzzwords to get into the United States. They would then be used as a means for their parents to sleaze their way in and onto the Welfare roles.
The government filed deportation cases against 62,363 minors between October 2013 and January of this year, according to federal data compiled by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University. At least 7,706 of them were ordered removed after they failed to show up in court. It is not known how many of those children were aware of their hearings and chose not to appear.
My guess is that most of them. As I recall, those that weren’t actual gangbangers, (A number of MS-13 members conned their way across the border), were sent to be with family members or friends. I would further hazard a guess that a fair number of those “families” might not have been here legally either.
It is also not known how many have actually been sent home.
Not nearly enough.
Last summer, Obama instructed courts to realign their dockets so underage immigrants would appear before a judge within 21 days of ICE officials filing a deportation case against them. Previously they would wait months or more than a year for their initial hearing.
That is ridiculous. A year? Why are they even getting a hearing in the first place? They, and all the other illegal aliens are simple criminals at best, an invading army at worst. As far as I’m concerned, they and all the other illegals have no rights other then a ticket out of the country and back to the third world hell holes they came from. Of course, that isn’t the way it’s working.
Immigrant advocates say the crush of fast-tracked cases may have overwhelmed the courts. Kathryn Mattingly, a spokeswoman for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which administers the courts, said immigrants who don’t appear are ordered removed “when the immigration judge is satisfied that notice of the time and place of the proceeding was provided to the respondent at the address the respondent provided.”
My wife is an immigrant. She is a legal resident alien. We jumped through hoops and spent thousands of dollars of our own money in order for my wife to immigrate lawfully to the United States. No one helped us for free. And as for not receiving the hearing notices? In our case, we had a registration number and a means of tracking my wife’s status on the Immigration services web site. We knew within a day when things changed regarding her case. If these little monsters, or the people they were staying with couldn’t be bothered to keep themselves informed? To bad.
Advocates for stricter enforcement of immigration laws said they were also concerned by reports that the government has failed to notify children of their court dates.
“They’re supposed to know where these kids are going when they release them,” said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. He said he also suspects some people may receive notices but choose not to go to court because they believe they can live in the country undetected. “They know that nobody is coming out looking for them,” Mehlman said. “The reason we had this surge is that people understood that these laws weren’t being enforced.”
Complaints regarding the immigration court system being overloaded are falling on uncaring ears. (Mine) Frankly, I no longer care why these criminals left their homes and came here. I know why. It’s to get free taxpayer money. It’s time to start rounding all these people up and shipping them out. As far as I’m concerned, the only people who should have access to the courts are lawful resident aliens who, for some reason, might be having some problems. Perhaps they committed a crime years ago, (Not crossing the border illegally) and paid their debt to society. They have kept their noses clean and become useful, productive members of American society. They have the right to a hearing. As for those who hopped the border? Don’t let the border fence slap you in the ass on your way out.

I’m a bad person: I think we need to use all these illegals to promote growth.
But we have to mulch and compost them, first. . . . (evil grin)
Are there enough woodchip…mulchers available? I’m thinking logistics.
