Shell ending arctic offshore drilling

Good day all. Back in May, I wrote a post about a flotilla of moonbats that were trying to prevent a drilling platform from being moved from Seattle into the Arctic ocean. In the end, the ever so environmentally sensitive Moonbats failed in their goals of preventing the rig from leaving port and also managed to make a massive mess of the harbor.

Barking Moonbat

The rig was toed to the Arctic ocean and Shell started drilling test bores to see if there was any oil or gas down there that was recoverable. Well, there wasn’t. Shell had dry holes. Now they’ve decided to close down and pull out of that area. Here are some of the details from Fox News:

Royal Dutch Shell said early Monday that it was ceasing offshore oil and gas exploration in Arctic waters after a test well yielded unsatisfactory amounts of oil and gas. The announcement was a huge blow to Shell, which was counting on offshore drilling in Alaska to help it drive future revenue and had poured billions in investment and years of work into the exploratory well.

This is not an uncommon occurrence in the oil industry. It’s gotten better over the years, but they still come up dry on occasion. Of course, the Moonbats promptly took credit for this.

Environmentalists, however, had tried repeatedly to block the project, and welcome the news. Margaret Williams of the World Wildlife Fund in Anchorage, called the news stunning. “That’s incredible. That’s huge,” she told the Associated Press. “All along the conservation community has been pointing to the challenging and unpredictable environmental conditions. We always thought the risk was tremendously great.”

double-facepalm

“Polar bears, Alaska’s Arctic and our climate just caught a huge break,” said Miyoko Sakashita, oceans program director for the Center for Biological Diversity, in a statement. “Here’s hoping Shell leaves the Arctic forever.”

stupid you are

You just can’t fix stupid, and that’s what these morons are, stupid. They are claiming credit for geology and as usual, getting things totally wrong. Let’s take the polar bears, shall we? There are far more polar bears now than there were 30 years ago. Of course, that little fact totally escapes the moonbats. And as for global warming?

It’s only early October and I’ve pulled the Air Conditioners out of the Anger Central Primary Dwelling, and I’ve been forced to fire up the furnace. Why? Because once again, Global Warming has failed to put in an appearance. The Moonbats may want to claim victory, but the truth is, Shell called it quits for one simple reason. There’s no oil down there.

This doesn’t mean they will stop looking. They will send out their research boats and start sounding in other regions. Then they will take that rig back out, set it up again and bore more test holes. Next time they might strike oil. For now, Shell is going back to the drawing board and reviewing their findings.
