And screamed in utter frustration! Good day all. Tomorrow, (December 18th), Star Wars, the Force Awakens world wide, with one exception. It will not be opening in Cairo, Egypt.
The first thing that comes to mind is the Egyptian government, for some unknown reason, pulled the plug. That wasn’t the case. Here’s what happened according to Yahoo News:
Maybe the Dark Side is to blame.
Or possibly, the Muslim Brotherhood. Lord knows they hate anyone having fun.
Fans in Egypt with IMAX tickets for the premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” were bitterly disappointed when the theater in Cairo said it was cancelling its showings on opening day.

Well, it wasn’t the Muslim Brotherhood or the Egyptian government that caused the opening day delay.
“We are extremely sorry to let you know that the IMAX copy of STAR WARS shipped to our theatre is corrupt,” the theatre said on its Facebook page Wednesday.
Corrupt? It isn’t a digital copy? Oh well, life’s a bitch. I’m sure the fans are taking this in stride though.
“I was livid. We have been planning it since November, reserved tickets online and everything was under control, then they tell us ‘Sorry,'” 34-year-old fan Mahmoud Salem said. “They are lucky people here aren’t die-hard fans. If this had happened in the U.S., they would have set the theatre on fire.”

Hmm, I guess not. Oh well, I’m sure they can amuse themselves with a goat or something. Or they can go talk to their “mummies” about it.
