Merry Politically Incorrect Christmas to all of you. For me, it sucks. I just came back from a trip to the emergency room. “OMG! What happened? Am I in your will?”
Sorry to disappoint all of you, but the only problem was waking up in the middle of the night with a massive pain in my right shoulder. I couldn’t get back to sleep and even with an ice pack the pain didn’t diminish. So I got dressed and walked to the hospital.
Yes, walked. It was my arm that was bothering me, not my feet. Anyway, talked to a couple of nurses, talked to a doctor, then had some X-rays taken. Seems I have some calcified tendons in my shoulder and I cracked or broke one. The doctor said that some calcification is normal for someone of my age, and something I did over the weekend apparently cracked a tendon, and my tossing and turning broke it.
All I can do now is wait for it to heal, and also go into deep depression at the thought of the bill I’m going to have to pay for the Emergency room. I’m guestimating $2-3K, and my deductible is $2500. So much fun when you have no income.
One side effect is that it’s a bit difficult for me to type, and this might cause issues with my posting. Yes, it was my right arm and I am extremely right handed. Still, I will muddle through, doing the best I can. At least I was prescribed some really cool drugs.

Well that sucks. After my most recent experience with the ER you may get out of it for under 1k, depending on the tests they ran.. So, walking distance to the hospital, that’s cool. Merry Christmas anyway.
I hope so. It was just some x-rays, so not to much. Still, it’s probably going to be below my deductible. Guess I’ll have to dive into the HAS. 😛
