Good day all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. The other day I asked is we should stay with DirecTV or go to the Dish Network. Well, a decision has been made.
We have installed the Dish Hopper into the Anger Central Entertainment lounge, and hooked up a Joey or three. I researched both systems, and it all came down to costs, the need to replace our old equipment and features.
This morning, the installer came in and we worked to retire the old gear and install the new. Currently, everyone in the office is reading the manuals and tying their phones into the systems. We’re also adding all our favorite programs back into the scheduler. One big difference, High Definition. The pictures are vastly better now, rivaling our Amazon Firesticks.
We also have Netflix built into the Hopper, so now we can stream it to the other systems that didn’t have HDMI slots. So far, so good. We have contacted DirecTV and canceled the account we’ve had since 1999. Since everyone is working to get things configured, along with the learning curve, we aren’t going to get a lot accomplished today.
Thank you for your advice. The polls were uniformly in favor of the Dish Network.
