Greetings all, It is I, the modest and charming Angry Webmaster. 🙂
I was surfing the news this morning when I saw a poll on CNN‘s site asking who was going to get the word cup?
The poll listed the following countries as possible host sites.
- The United States
- Australia
- Qatar
- Japan
- South Korea
Now I was thinking, Why the hell is the United States being considered? I mean, come on, who the hell cares about a bunch of guys running around kicking a ball up and down a field? And when the finally manage to score, they run around some more and then start hugging and kissing each other on what a great play it was.
BLEAH!
As I recall, they just completed the World Cup in South Africa. All I remember of it was 80,000 Vuvuzela’s ((What is a Vuvuzela?)) blasting out a B flat note and Top Gear’s ((Top Gear on the BBC))Â Jeremy Clarkson commenting on his Tequila binge.
Most Americans would rather listen to babies screeching then watch the World Cup. There’s a reason why we call it soccer. Because it’s easier to misspeak and call it sucker.
We prefer real sports, like American Football. Large powerful player slamming into each other, who don’t whine when they get a little boo boo when they fall down. If American Football isn’t on, then there’s it’s cousin, Rugby. Both of these are real sports with a good chance of injury.
If you watch professional soccer, you will see some of the worst acting this side of Plan 9 from outer space. The term “Drama Queen” was created to describe professional soccer players when they “Suffer an injury” usually to their hair styles.
Bunch of pansy-assed wimps if you ask me.
So, I’m going to put up my own poll on this question of where to hold the World Cup.
