Enjoying the price of gas?

Hello all, it’s me again. The Angry Webmaster. I don’t know about you, but I’m almost at the point where I can’t afford to drive to my real world job. In case you’ve been commuting to and from your rock via bicycle, gas prices have skyrocketed in the last few months.

The reason for this is pretty basic. The middle east countries have exploded in revolt and revolution against the various governments there. To date, Tunisia and Egypt have removed their former regimes, but since they don’t have oil, it wasn’t to important. Now, Muammar Gaddafi, (Better known as Wacky Gaddafi) is fighting for his very life. The country he’s ruled, Libya, is an oil producer, however, it isn’t doing a lot of producing at the moment.

Other Arab countries are also getting nervous about potential revolts. More importantly, the oil speculators are getting nervous about potential oil cutoffs. All this worry shouldn’t be happening, and wouldn’t be if we didn’t have a bunch of complete morons running this country.

The United States has plenty of reserves of oil, both onshore and offshore, however we can’t drill for it. Thanks to the socialists, Marxists, environazi’s and anti-American slime, these reserves have been put off limits. The basic premise of these groups is that the American people are evil and use to much energy and need to be stopped.

What they would like to do is force people to either walk, ride bicycles or use public transportation. Of course, they never take into account the huge size of the United States or that in most places there IS NO public transportation available. Of course, since most of the nitwits pushing these “solutions” live in cities, they can’t see the problem.

Last summer, British Petroleum had a massive blowout of one of their deep water wells in the Gulf of Mexico. This happened because BP didn’t follow standard procedures, regulations or common sense. The Obama administration saw this as their chance to kill the off shore oil industry and promptly banned all new drilling.

Of course these bans were challenged in court and the Obama administration was told they had acted in an illegal manner. That didn’t stop them. They simply ignored the rulings ((U.S. in Contempt Over Gulf Drill Ban, Judge Rules)). Now the deep water drilling platforms have left or are leaving the Gulf. This has caused 10’s of thousands of people to lose their jobs. The “True Believers” in the Obama administration flat out don’t care. All that matters to them are windmills, solar cells and magic power plants that run on unicorn farts.

10 years ago, the oil industry wanted to start drilling in ANRW. This set off the whackos and moonbats. Oh No! We will harm the wildlife! Birds will die! The Elk will be murdered! Besides, it will take 10 years to produce oil and there isn’t that much there!!” Well, it’s 10 years later, and the area the oil companies wanted to drill in was only a couple of miles. Moreover, there is nothing there but tundra and mosquitoes.

Since then, even more oil has been found in the northern Midwest. It’s called the Bakken Oil ((Bakken Formation)) formation and it’s huge. Oil companies are already drilling with success. The problem is, the way they need to get the oil out. I don’t fully understand the process, but apparently the oil companies fracture the rock in some way to release the oil. Of course, the environazi’s are utterly opposed to this.

There’s also Oil Shale ((Oil Shale Reserves)). This is oil that is trapped in Shale ((Shale stone)) and requires extensive processing. Again I’m not that familiar with the process, but the reserves are enormous.

Another issue with oil is that the United States hasn’t built an oil refinery since the 1970’s ((No new refineries)). The reason is simple. The EPA won’t allow it. In fact, the EPA would love nothing better then to shut down all the existing refineries in the United States. The state of Texas is fighting off the EPA at this moment ((Texas Showdown)), and the feelings about this are so high it could cause a constitutional crisis. Yes, there have been rumblings and grumblings with the “Secession” word lightly tossed into the mix. Obviously we’re a long way from that!

So, we have lots of oil, but the oil companies aren’t allowed to go after it. We need more refineries but we aren’t allowed to build them. Why is this? The basic answer is that the regulatory agencies are not run by scientists, engineers or business people. They are run by the “True Believers.”

These people are generally, for lack of a better term, Marxists. They have never held a job outside of either government or academia. They generally live in areas that are close to where they work or they work from home. They also have the belief that they are “The Special People” who have spent years studying in the ivy covered halls of academia, should rule the people and evil business. They despise everything that made America great and feel that it is their duty to “Manage the decline ((Managing the decline of America))” of the United states.

What these buffoons don’t understand is that if America falls, they will be the first up against the wall. I, for one, have no plans in allowing these treasonous idiots to get away with this. We need to start drilling for our own energy resources NOW! We’re almost self-sufficient in Natural Gas and have enormous untapped reserves with more being found. ((U.S. gas reserves may have doubled))

I haven’t even gone into the huge reserves of coal we have. Of course, the Obama administration is working mightily to shut down all our coal mines and fossil fueled power plants. Nuclear power? Eek! Evil!

No, nukes aren’t evil and could generate clean energy for decades. Reactor technology hasn’t stood still even though we haven’t built a new plant in decades. Today they are looking at Thorium fueled reactors ((Thorium power)) as well as Pebble Bed reactors. ((Pebble Bed reactors)) All we need is the will to start construction.

None of this is going to happen though. We have to many interests who want the United States both dependent on foreign oil and also to fade away and become a second rate or third rate power.

Will you allow this to happen? I won’t! The best thing you can do is drive Obama and his true believers out and get people in office and government who both understand what needs to be done and want the United States to be both energy independent and the greatest nation on Earth.

It’s all up to you people. I can only do so much.
