Review: Jeremy’s Razors, a Follow Up

Good day all. A few weeks ago, I wrote a review of Jeremy’s Razors, the new competition to the sadly Woke, Harry’s Razors. In it I said that the razors were great, and only mentioned the shaving cream and aftershave that were included in the starter kit. This follow up is in regards to the shaving cream.

The razors continue to perform brilliantly. The aftershave seems to be good, but, as I mentioned in the original review, I don’t normally use aftershave so don’t have anything to compare it to. This leaves us with Jeremy’s shaving cream. Sadly, I must give this item two thumbs down.

I didn’t order either the cream or the aftershave. They were included in the starter kit. However, since it was included, I thought I would use the shaving cream until it was gone. I used it for a week before I gave up on it and returned to using my normal brand. The reason for this?

Using Jeremy’s shaving cream was like shaving with wet concrete. It is very thick and dense, and this is part of the problem. It clogs up the razor cartridge making it almost impossible to clean properly. (I ended up using a can of compressed air I use to clean out dust from my computers) Rinsing the cartridge under hot water didn’t clean out the used shaving cream, it actually seemed to set it in like hardened concrete. The affect on the blades was even worse.

With Harry’s, I could go a week to 10 days before the blades were dulled and the cartridge had to be replaced. Jeremy’s razor blades wouldn’t last more then 3-5 days before they were dulled to the point of uselessness. When I finally gave up on the shaving cream, I changed the cartridge and started using my old, cheap brand.

First, it provided the proper softening of my beard, and excellent lubrication for the blades. The blades performed as expected. Cleaning out the cartridge was easy and complete. There was no leftover cream or beard in the blades or any part of the cartridge. Finally, I went 10 days before I had to change out the cartridge. (I actually went two weeks as an experiment. I didn’t start getting knicks until the 10 day mark)

So, in closing. I still highly recommend Jeremy’s Razors. I have not seen any issues with the aftershave and I may even order more when I run out. The shaving cream? It’s going into the trash. I am sorry Mr. Boreing, but whoever formulated the shaving cream with your name on it screwed up by the numbers. You might want to check their references and see if they are actually saboteurs from Harry’s Woke Razor Emporium out to get you.

Just bought the Jeremy’s razor starter kit. I tried to shave with it and almost ripped my face off. RERRIBLE PRODUCT! Callled the support line and asked for a refund which they promptly told was not possible. Their support line is an oxymoron. As stated above their shaving cream is also really bad. Too bad I like their commercials.

I really wanted to like this package. Sadly, it just doesn’t measure up. The razor lacks flexibility and a trimming edge on the top. The shaving cream is next to useless. The aftershave balm was adequate.
It pains me to admit it, but Harry’s is a superior product overall. The question is do I want to go with an inferior product or the superior product that supports causes with which I don’t agree.

    • Agree on the shaving cream, disagree on the razor. I don’t use the aftershave since I don’t use aftershave. The trimmer missing is annoying, but not a deal killer for me. The layout of the blades I’ve found is superior to Harry’s and the handle is far better in my hand.

If I recall correctly, Harry’s started out lacking a trimmer as well.

Just an update. Jeremy’s now offers a blade with a trimmer on it. Since that is the priority, (The other stuff is just other stuff), I think it shows they are learning and improving.
They’ve also updated their web site so you can order additional stuff or switch products.
