Good day all. For the last two years, Senator Rand Paul has been fighting what amounts to a war with the now former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci. Now Senator Paul is putting forward a bill to dissolve and disband the NIAID.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was founded in 1955. In that time, the average length of service of the directors was about 11 years, give or take. Then Anthony Fauci was appointed the director in 1984, (Why does that sound so symbolic?) and ran the place as his personal fiefdom for almost 40 years.
I won’t bother going over Fauci’s botched response to the HIV epidemic. Others can look into that. What has driven Sen. Paul and others to look into disbanding NIAID was Fauci’s activities before and after the outbreak of what is known as the “Fauci Flu” and generally referred to as the Covid-19 virus. Fauci, as we now know, was told to stop Gain of Function research, and basically ignored the instructions.
Worse, he outsourced this, and a number of other illegitimate avenues of “research” to foreign governments, such as the People’s Republic of China. It was there that the Fauci Flu was manufactured and probably released accidentally. Once it got out, Fauci flat out lied about where it came from and actively covered up the source.
He also worked to suppress any potential treatments, pushing vaccine developments instead. He also worked with Big Tech to suppress any dissent to his narratives. Now Senator Paul and Senator Chip Roy have put forward legislation that disbands and breaks up the NIAID. Here are the details from the Daily Caller:
Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Rep. Chip Roy will introduce legislation Thursday that would eliminate the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, which is titled the NIH Reform Act. The bill would specifically replace the NIAID with three separate national research institutes that would be led by directors subject to Senate confirmation and limited to no more than two 5-year terms.
The three new institutes would be the National Institute of Allergic Diseases, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, and the National Institute of Immunologic Diseases.
That will put an end to petty little bureaucratic empire builders like Fauci who used his position to enrich himself.
“We’ve learned a lot over the past few years, but one lesson in particular is that no one person should be deemed ‘dictator-in-chief.’ No one person should have unilateral authority to make decisions for millions of Americans,” Paul told the Daily Caller before introducing the legislation.
“To ensure that ineffective, unscientific lockdowns and mandates are never foisted on the American people ever again, I’ve introduced this bill to eliminate Dr. Anthony Fauci’s previous position as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and divide the role into three separate new institutes. This will create accountability and oversight into a taxpayer funded position that has largely abused its power and has been responsible for many failures and misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
Frankly, I’m not really sure that any of these agencies are needed or should exist. I still see to much chance of waste and abuse. The Daily Caller posted the bill on Scribd and you can read it or download it. Fauci’s lies and cover-up should have him under arrest. Instead, he “Retired” with the largest pension in American history.
“From the earliest days of the pandemic, unaccountable public health bureaucracies proved themselves far more adept at ruining lives than saving them. Never again should a single individual, like Dr. Anthony Fauci, wield unchecked power and influence over the lives of the American people. Breaking up Dr. Fauci’s taxpayer funded bully pulpit into three separate agencies — and requiring Senate confirmation for all their future directors — is one of many actions necessary to allow the American people to hold public health agencies accountable,” Roy, who introduced an identical House version of the bill, said in a statement.
The legislation is currently cosponsored by Utah Sen. Mike Lee, Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Indiana Sen. Mike Braun and Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley.
Sadly, while I do see this passing in the House, I don’t see it getting a vote in the Senate thanks to the corrupt Senate Majority Leader UpChuck Schumer. The Democrats loved what Fearless Fauci and the rest of the CDC did to punish the American people and strip them of their rights. By the time the Republicans gain control of the House, Senate and executive branches, Fauci will probably be dead of old age. (He’s 84 now) Still, the entire CDC needs to be completely overhauled from top to bottom and this would be a good start.

I’m pretty sure that Fauci and the Wuhan Institute of Virology are guilty of violating the Nuremberg Code and the parts of the Hague Convention covering bioweapons. I’m also very sure that none of the responsible parties will ever be tried.
A tip of the hat to Rand Paul for his carrying on the work of his father and generally being a visible pain to the Deep state uniparty.
