Good day all. Shortly after President Trump returned to office, he started rounding up illegal aliens and deporting them. Almost immediately Leftist judges started interfering with the will of the voters. We also had some that went that one step to far.
One judge that decided the laws do not apply to her was Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. She is, or was a local judge in Wisconsin. She attempted to obstruct ICE agents from picking up an illegal alien an tried to help him escape. She failed and was arrested. Now the jury has decided her case. Here are the details from Fox News:
A jury found Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan guilty of obstructing federal immigration agents during an attempt to serve a warrant at a courthouse earlier this year. She faces up to five years in prison on the felony obstruction count.
Dugan was arrested in April after helping Eduardo Flores-Ruiz avoid plainclothes Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who were trying to serve him a warrant. Prosecutors said Dugan helped Flores-Ruiz and his attorney exit her courtroom through a back door on April 18, after learning that ICE agents were in the building to arrest him.
I don’t know what this blithering idiot was thinking, but she certainly wasn’t thinking about the law. What was even more remarkable was that she claimed in the trial that judges are 100% immune from federal charges. That was laughed out of court by the federal judge hearing her case.
“While we are disappointed in today’s outcome, the failure of the prosecution to secure convictions on both counts demonstrates the opportunity we have to clear Judge Dugan’s name and show she did nothing wrong in this matter,” Dugan’s defense team said in a statement. “We have planned for this potential outcome and our defense of Judge Dugan is just beginning. This trial required considerable resources to prepare for and public support for Judge Dugan’s defense fund is critical as we prepare for the next phase of this defense.”
The charge she wasn’t convicted on was a misdemeanor charge, not a felony. I don’t think the prosecutors are to broken up by that decision since the jury did find this arrogant Libtard Judge guilty of a crime that can and should get her 5 years in a federal prison.
Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin Brad Schimel reacted to the verdict, saying Dugan “is certainly not evil nor is she a martyr for some greater cause.”
Dugan is certainly playing up the whole martyr thing and trying to use this to raise money. While I expect this dumb cow to appeal, unless there was a major screw up by either the prosecution or the judge, that appeal will fail and it’s off to the house of many doors for Dugan.
Schimel added that prosecutors “weren’t trying to make an example out of anyone.”
Well you should be. It’s bad enough for an average idiot to do what this criminal did. Dugan, as a judge, has no excuse. She knew that aiding and abetting an illegal in attempting to escape deportation was against the law and she didn’t care.
Following the verdict, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Dugan “betrayed her oath and the people she served.”
Under Wisconsin law, Dugan is no longer eligible to hold public office.
Now the next phase will be sentencing. By rights, Dugan should get the maximum sentence allowed by law. If the judge sitting on this case decides to just do probation or a few months, then we have another judge who may need to be informed that now would be a good time to spend more time with his family. We shall see what happens now.
