I’ve pushed the button

Good afternoon all. Well, after much consideration, I’ve pushed the button on buying a Kindle. As you may remember, a few weeks ago I posted a question on the blog, To Kindle or Not to Kindle

There were some comments and a poll. I did a lot of research and looking at the poll, I’ve decided on the basic Kindle Touch. I’ve also ordered a cover and the 2 year warranty. It was a touch choice for me. I was also looking at the Kindle DX as well. I didn’t look at the new Kindle Fire for the simple reason it was more than I needed.

Of the two I dug into, the reason I liked the DX was the screen size. However, the cost was a big downer for me. It’s actually more expensive then the Kindle Fire. This is the basic Touch model rather than the 3G model. I couldn’t justify the added cost for the 3G since WiFi works just fine.

I’ve also downloaded the desktop app and it has just confirmed to me why I don’t like reading books are other documents on a computer if I don’t have to. I prefer to lie on a couch when I read and be comfortable. Sitting at a desk isn’t comfortable. :p

So I want to say thank you to all of you who have offered me your advice and personal experiences. Since I’m just an underpaid Systems Admin, I took the free shipping option, so it will be a week or so before it arrives. Once it does, and I’ve figured out how it works, I’ll write up my review of it.

Thanks all
