And the Stupid move of the day award goes to…

Randy Lee Tenley of Kalispell, Montana! And what did the Late Mr. Tenley do to earn this award? He decided it would be a great idea to put on a Ghillie suit ((What is a Ghillie suit?)) and walk down a highway. In the dark. With no reflectors on him.

The reason this idiot did this was to try and generate fake Sasquatch ((Bigfoot)) sightings. Here’s the story by Jim Mann of the Daily Inter Lake:

A man dressed in a military-style “Ghillie suit” who was attempting to provoke a Bigfoot sighting was struck by two vehicles and killed on U.S. 93 South of Kalispell Sunday night.

“He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting,” Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Schneider said. “You can’t make it up. I haven’t seen or heard of anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him.”

I’ve included a footnote on what a Ghillie Suit is. Basically it’s used by military snipers to hide from the enemy. Hunters also use them to hide from the animals they are hunting. Basically, you use one in the wilderness so you won’t be seen. This is not to suit you should wear when walking down an unlit highway in the dark. The big question is, why did numbnuts decide this was a good idea?

“Alcohol may have been a factor,” Schneider said. “Impairment is up in the air.”

To quote Dean Wormer, “Fat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through life. ((Animal House))” So this drunken idiot is walking down the highway and:

“He was in the right-hand lane of travel and the vehicle was unable to avoid him and struck him,” Schneider said of the first vehicle driven by a 15-year-old girl from Somers.

A second vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Somers girl also struck Tenley as he laid on the highway.

Now I really feel bad for these two young ladies. I have no doubt they feel totally responsible for this moron’s successful attempt to win the Darwin Awards. I want them to know that they are NOT responsible for the stupidity of others. Ladies, it wasn’t your fault and while there will be an investigation, I fully expect you to be cleared.

Tenley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dead, and rather flat and squishy I suspect. It’s early yet but I don’t doubt this will end up on the Darwin Awards web site in the next day or so.
