Obama insulted that Romney isn’t waiting for “The Government” to step in.
Greetings all from the Anger Central Storm Center. In case you have been living in an underground bunker the last few days, you are aware of a massive storm, named “Sandy” working its way up the eastern seaboard of the United States.
This storm is very dangerous and people are being ordered out of low lying, flood prone areas. Both the Romney campaign and the Obama campaign have pulled out of the affected areas so as not to interfere with any rescue and emergency service requirements. (I understand Obama is really upset that this storm had the temerity to interfere with his certain reelection campaign) Obama has followed the instructions of FEMA and has alerted all Federal emergency response groups. Romney, he’s gone a slightly different way. Here are some of the details from The Blaze:
The Romney campaign is reportedly using at least one of its campaign buses to provide supplies and relief for those who are likely to be hit by Hurricane Sandy in the coming days.
Having canceled campaign events in the area, Romney spokespeople are saying the bus will be used to transport donations of basic supplies to those in need.
“Bring donations to VA Victory offices. Romney bus will deliver them to those affected by #Sandy. #RomneyRyan2012,” Curt Cashour, Romney’s Virginia communications director, tweeted.
ABC’s Emily Friedman added: “Romney campaign will load storm relief supplies into Romney bus in Arlington Va today and will collect supplies at all VA victory offices.”
Anyone who knows anything about Mitt Romney understand that this is just the way he is. Of course, the more cynical people, (That would be moonbats, liberals, progressives, Democrats and the Obamas), are saying that this is just a campaign stunt.
President Obama has also promised to help those affected by the storm, saying the federal government will not get “bogged down” by “rules” and “red tape” in providing local officials everything they need to manage the crisis.
And if you believe that, I have a tunnel in New York about to be flooded for sale. This shows the difference between the two candidates and how they perceive things. Romney’s first thought was to get started with the private sector and have things moving even before they’re needed. Obama? He will makes sure that there is no red tape problems with the bureaucrats.
I suspect that even as President, Romney would start things rolling with the private sector while making sure that the appropriate agencies were also getting ready to move. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that the government agencies are not all that fast and usually screw things up, (Not always, but take a look at Katrina)
Follow along on twitter and if you can, send some help. Better that it isn’t needed then not to have it in hand and on site if it is.
