Black Friday sales Obama doesn’t like

Good day all, if you were one of those crazy people that went out shopping on Black Friday, I hope you survived. Mrs. Webmaster left the house at 3:30AM to hit the mall. Sales seem to have been brisk according to reports, with the usual loons fighting over that last pair of shoes on the shelf.

However, there is one area that Our Ear Leader is probably not to happy about. That would be gun sales. Apparently, people were shopping around for firearms in even greater numbers than usual. Here are a few details from Infowars.com ((And yes I know about them, but this looks like a straight news story)):

Black Friday gun sales hit an all time record high last week with demand for new firearms so overwhelming that it caused outages at the FBI background check center on two separate occasions.

That takes a lot of work to knock down the instant check system. It’s been up and running for at least 10 years now. I wonder why so many people are buying guns?

Fueled by fears that the Obama administration will go after gun rights during a lame duck term, the FBI reported 154,873 background check requests on Friday – a 20 per cent increase on last year’s record total of 129,166 checks.

First, King Putt isn’t a lame duck. That walking two legged turd won reelection…damn it. Of course, gun sales have been through the roof since Der Fubar won in 2008. I wonder what’s changed?

President Obama indicated during the presidential debates that he would pursue an assault weapons ban, which second amendment activists see as merely the first step towards wider gun control regulation.

Obama also indicated that he would attempt to eviscerate the right to keep and bear arms during a White House meeting with gun control advocate Sarah Brady last year. During the meeting, Obama told Brady he was working “under the radar” on new gun control policy. Brady added that Obama assured her gun control was “very much on his agenda.”

I hadn’t heard about that meeting, but I’m not surprised. The SCoaMF has been trying to do back door gun control since day one. This is why we have that wonderful project known as “Operation Fast & Furious” where they let hundreds of guns walk across the border and into the hands of the drug cartels.

But it’s not just Obama’s conduct on the domestic front that has second amendment activists concerned. The Obama administration’s willingness to sign up to a United Nations global arms treaty which threatens to outlaw guns in the U.S. is also driving firearms sales.

Final discussions on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) are set to take place in March next year. The New American notes that, “Section III, Paragraphs 7 and 8 of the Programme of Action mandate that if a member state cannot get rid of privately owned small arms legislatively, then the control of “customs, police, intelligence, and arms control” will be placed under the power of a board of UN bureaucrats operating out of the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs,” opening the door to UN peacekeeping forces to disarm American citizens.

Ok, now I really doubt that the UN would be able to come in and take over our law enforcement system. The UN is not all that popular in the United States, (Most want to bulldoze the UN building into New York Harbor and build a tidal barrier in case another storm comes up like Sandy) First, the treaty would need to be approved by 2/3 of the United States Senate and the Moonbats don’t have those numbers. Second, Americans tried gun control and found it didn’t work. Now you are seeing the old laws slowly being eroded away.

Even if this treaty managed to get through the Senate, it would be unenforceable. Why is this? Many reasons starting with the all those people with guns refusing to give them up. If that bit about putting LEO’s under UN control was even attempted, it would fail outright. First there would be the refusals and resignations, and then there would be the citizens using those silly blue beret’s as aiming points. Nope, this is just a bit of paranoia from the Infowars crowd.

Back to the sales now.

The number of guns sold could actually be double or more that figure because only one background check is recorded per sale even if buyers purchase multiple firearms. “With the recent election, some people are making buying decisions just in case something (new law) happens,” Don Gallardo, manager of Shooter’s World in Phoenix, told USA Today.

That I can believe. As I mentioned in a previous post, that Moonbat Senator from California, Diane Feinstein said she was going to introduce a new ban on “Assault weapons” and this time it would go further than the last one. There would be no grandfathering in of current owners. They would have to turn in their “Banned” property. This has no chance of getting through the Senate, never mind the House of Representatives. “DiFi” hates the “Little People” having any means of defending themselves, however she has had a concealed carry permit in the past and has armed bodyguards with her a lot of the time. Yep, a typical Transnational moonbat progressive hypocrite. Just like that little twerp in New York City, Mayor Bloomberg.

Gun stores noted that first time gun owners and women represented a significant number of those purchasing firearms on Black Friday.

This is not anecdotal. I know a few dealers around the country and they all report that people who 5 years ago wouldn’t be caught dead with a gun now don’t want to be caught dead without one. As for women buying them? The best way to deal with a potential rapist is to blow his nuts off. Stops a rape attempt every single time! 😀

And now for some due diligence. I was one of those shoppers. I had a rifle with a jammed bolt and I took it to a small dealer recommended by the Angry Brother to see if he could free it up. I also took the Angry Brother in-Law with me since he was interested in getting into the shooting sports. (I haven’t been on the range in years and am looking to get back into it)

We chatted with the store owner and his assistant and checked out a few items, all of which would be banned by the UN and their tranzi pals in the United States. When I spoke to the owner Monday, I found the rifle would have to go to the factory for repairs. The cost for that was prohibitive, so I did a deal with the store owner and I now own a brand new “Evil Black Rifle. ((EBR))” I got a surprisingly good deal on it and I’m now learning how to take care of it. Being a responsible “Wingnut” gun owner, I’ve been looking to get some formal training. While I am not a “Newbie,” I am very rusty. I recommend that anyone who is considering buying a firearm get formal training in how to use it safely and in a lawful manner.

Thanks to Obama and the Progressive forces of Evil currently infesting the Democrat Party, firearms manufacturers and dealers can’t keep stock on the shelves. And as a shareholder in Ruger Firearms and Smith and Wesson Holding Company, I want to thank all of you for keeping my stock portfolio solidly in the black. 😉
