Michigan is now a Right to Work state

And the unions doing what they always do when things go against them. Resorting to violence. Last night, the governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder signed the Right to Work bill into law.

The unions, along with a few Progressive Democrats, promptly started making threats and attacking anyone who opposed them…physically. In this case it was Steven Crowder, a comedian and Fox News contributor who was attacked by union thugs ((Fox News contributor punched in face at pro-union protests in Michigan)). These ever so gentle union members also destroyed a tent that was set up by the Americans for Prosperity. (A conservative group)

One of the State legislators, Democratic Rep. Douglas Geiss, had this to say about the new law:

“There will be blood, there will be repercussions.”

Yep, a real “Man of the people” there. I looked at his web site and he’s already trying to walk back his remarks:

“Today’s ‘Right-to-Work’ legislation is contentious and that stirs the passions of people on all sides of the issue. As George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it.

“Let me be clear, I do not want to see history repeated. My caucus and I stand against the use of violence and do not condone its use. We condemn violence, the destruction of property and all other illegal activity in the strongest possible terms. I urge both supporters of this legislation and opponents to stand with me in my call for nonviolence.

“I have argued for and remain committed to an open and deliberate process that we and the people did not have today.”

Nice try dipstick. You should have thought of the potential for union thuggery before you shot off your mouth. It’s a bit to late now, especially for Steven Crowder, the Americans for Prosperity and Clint Tarver.

Clint Tarver? Who is he you ask? Mr. Tarver was at the seen of the union riot with his hot dog wagon. Mr. Tarver is also known as “The Hot Dog Guy” in Lansing, Michigan. He was on site, trying to do some business and sell hotdogs. Well, the union thugs there took offense. As they were busy stomping the AFP tent and beating anyone who wasn’t pro-union, they decided to attack and destroy Mr. Tarver’s hot dog cart.

These paragons of union virtue also decided to insult Mr. Tarver. As the goons wrecked Mr. Tarver’s business, they called him “Uncle Tom” and “Nigger.” (Mr. Tarver happens to be of recent African decent) Funny, I always thought Liberals, Progressives and Unions were very tolerant of others. Obviously, I was mistaken. Well the good news is there was a lot of video taken of these dumbass goons and it looks like they have identified the thugs in question. Here’s a web site with video, pictures and details. Hopefully there will be prosecutions and long jail sentences. There is also a page set up to help Mr. Tarver replace his destroyed hotdog stand.

These criminal acts are not at all surprising of course. Take Jimmy Hoffa…PLEASE! As Governor Snyder was signing the Right to Work bill into law, he had this to say:

“This is just the first round of a battle that’s going to divide this state. We’re going to have a civil war.”

Hoffa is a thug of the first order, right down there with Richard Trumka ((Richard Louis Trumka)). If they don’t get what they want, they will order their brown shirts, (Or in the case of the SEIU, Purple shirts), into action. It won’t be protests, it will be threats and assaults.

When Hoffa says there’s going to be a civil war, he means it literally. What he and the other union chiefs, along with their bought and paid for politicians fail to understand is, the voters have decided that the union way is the wrong way. Their threats and their violence are both rubbing the people they allegedly represent the wrong way. They are also starting to frighten people. This is not a good thing for the unions.

The last time they started pulling this stuff was back in the early days of the Tea Party. Union thugs attacked several Tea Party supporters as well as making general threats. Almost immediately after one man, Kenneth Gladney was attacked and hospitalized, Tea Party members started arming themselves. Then they went to Union local offices and protested the attacks. (Without violence) The message the Tea Party sent was “We will play by the rules and we expect you to as well. If you don’t, we will defend ourselves by whatever means is required.” In other words, next time they would shoot the union thugs. Since these bullies are basically cowards, and people were openly carrying pistols ad rifles for a while, the problems stopped in their tracks.

It seems the unions failed to learn from these lessons.

The day of the union is over. They could remake themselves to actually do what they were meant to do, basically represent their members. They don’t which is why no one wants to join them. They think that with Obama in the White House, he will do something to reverse the decline. This would mean forced membership in unions with dues deducted from people’s paychecks. Obama of course, supports forcing people into unions, “For their own good.” The problem is, no one else does. Even the Democrats are balking at some of the things unions want.

Michigan is the latest state to put in Right to Work. Now we will see if it helps rebuild their economy. The track record to date is in Michigan’s favor. However, that will only work if the Federal Government gets out of the way and doesn’t complete the destruction of the economy.

We shall see.
