Well well well, as expected, the cowards pretending to be Republicans in the Senate have completely caved in to Obama’s Marxist demands and voted for $41 dollars in new taxes for every $1 dollar in cuts.
Is it any wonder the Republican base has nothing but contempt for these scum? Last night, McConnell and the other RINO’s threw in the towel. They are so terrified of losing their seats in 2014 if the tax rates go up for most people that they threw the actual producers of jobs under the bus. Top this off with the $1 trillion in new taxes thanks to Obamacare, and expect unemployment to go up big time.
The vote wasn’t even close. Only 8 Senators voted against it. On the Republican side, you had Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Charles Grassely, Mike Lee and Richard Shelby. On the Democrats side you Michael Bennett and Tom Harkin.
Harkin voted against this bill because, in his mind, it didn’t raise taxes enough. I have no idea why Bennett voted against it as of this posting, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he also thinks it doesn’t hike taxes enough. Tom Harkin, has never ever met a tax hike he didn’t love. Back in the lame duck sessions of 2010, he held hearings on seizing the 401K and IRA accounts from people and pouring the money into the social security system. The former 401K and IRA holders would be guaranteed a 3% return on their money. Great deal since most people, even in this economy, are pulling in 8% – 12%.
The Republicans that voted against it think just the opposite. They believe that raising taxes will kill the economy and push the United States back into recession. I disagree. I don’t believe we ever got out of the last recession. This will, in my opinion, push us into depression.
Rubio and the others know the real problem. We don’t have a revenue shortage, we have a major spending problem. Thanks to Obama and the democrats, the United States is now bankrupt. There, I said it. We are broke. There is no way for the nation and a good number of the states to pay off the debts these morons have run up in their attempts to buy votes. Now the bills have come due and rather then sit down and figure out what we really should be spending money on, they went back to their usual meme of raising taxes.
Because McConnell and the other RINO’s are such cowards, it’s going to be up to the House of Representatives to kill this disaster. Of course, we have Cry Baby Boehner as the speaker, (At least for a few more days), so he may try and force this through. Considering his past history of screwing the conservatives, he may think he can get away with it.
Boehner has said he will hold off sending this to the floor so that the membership can read it. Not much is known, but what has come out shows just how badly McConnell and the other RINO’s were rolled. Here are a few details from the Washington Post:
Republicans gave in on the spending cuts, known as sequestration, by agreeing to a two-month delay in budget reductions that would be paid for in part with new tax revenue, a condition they had resisted. And the White House made a major concession on the estate tax, agreeing to terms that would permit estates worth as much as $15 million to escape taxation by the end of the decade, Democrats said.
That sound you are hearing is the rattle of a can being kicked down the road. And this utterly discredited nonsense of “Paying for tax cuts?” This is the typical mindset of a spendaholic politician. They believe that all the money in this country belongs to them and anything that reduces their take must be recovered by taking more money from somewhere else.
As I mentioned above. Boehner the bonehead has delayed the vote on this piece of crap.
The measure is now at the House, where Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) pledged to bring it to a vote in the coming days. “Decisions about whether the House will seek to accept or promptly amend the measure will not be made until House members — and the American people — have been able to review the legislation,” Boehner and other GOP leaders said in a written statement.
What this means is, he doesn’t have the Republican votes to ram this down our throats. The Tea Party conservatives, who were sent to congress for the express purpose of fixing the mess people like Boehner and McConnell have gotten us into, (By rolling over and begging for scraps from Obama, Reid and Pelosi rather then ripping their throats out), aren’t going to just say “Sure! Lets screw over the people who are trying to get the economy going again!” Of course, there is always pork barrel spending in these things.
In addition to dealing with the fiscal crisis, the measure would extend federal farm policies through September, averting an estimated doubling of milk price.
Let the price double I say. In fact, I’m not the only one saying it. People have had it with these subsidies. They claim that it helps people, but where do these idiots think the money comes from to pay for all this? Oh yeah, Ben Bernanke’s printing presses, that’s where.
When the economy finally collapses in the next year or two and we start seeing hyperinflation kicking in, people are going to be furious. The moonbats on the left will be screaming, ranting and rioting when their free stuff stops coming, the welfare checks bounce and the EBT ((Electronic Benefit Transfer)) cards aren’t refilled. The people on the right, (These would be formally employed taxpayers and small business owners), will decide that the time has come for real change, and they won’t be wasting time on ballots.
Now you know why the Obama and the Democrats are so hot to get the guns away from the people. As much as I hate to say it, we are seeing the end days of the United States. I think the odds of a state or two breaking away in the next 5 years is close to 50-50. The moonbats and morons, (Democrats and Republicans In Name Only), caused this and even thought a majority of the people are ready to take their medicine with cuts in spending, the Party of Big Government won’t listen.
We’re screwed.
