More dumb criminals in the news

Good day all. We have another stupid criminal in the news story. This time, some criminals invaded the home of a person and locked him in his closet. The problem was, these future members of the Obama administration didn’t think to look in it first.

This was the home owners gun closet. Here are some of the details from the Daily Mail.

The victim of an armed home invasion in Houston has turned the tables on the brazen intruders after they stuffed him into a closet that turned out to be the place where he stores his gun.

First issue. These geniuses broke into a home in Texas with the owner on site. Second dumb thing, they forgot this is Texas and a lot of people have guns and know how to use them.

Police say it all started at around 2pm Tuesday when three men broke into a home in the 8200 block of Braeburn Valley Drive and assaulted the resident.

After a brief scuffle, the hapless perpetrators shoved the man into a closet, not knowing that there was a gun in there.

When the homeowner thought the burglars had left, he went downstairs, carrying his gun in case the suspects were still around, the Houston Chronicle reported.

I can see why the owner might wait a bit. He was outnumbered and was safe at that moment. After he came out, the fun began.

On the first floor, the man confronted one of his assailant and the two exchanged gunfire, according to police.

The resident, who shares the house with his parents, escaped unharmed, but the armed suspect was much the worse for wear after being struck in the shoulder and leg.

The home owner forgot to aim for center mass or was suffering from a bit of buck fever. Still, I have no doubt he has practiced with his gun extensively. The idiot? Highly doubtful he had ever fired his gun and if he did, it was only a couple of times.

He fled on foot down the street, but did not get far before he collapsed.

Fled on foot? More like he limped away in agony. So what about his buddies? Did they help him at all?

His two suspected accomplices took off from the scene in a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Nope! They must have been sick the day they gave the Honor among thieves class.

The wounded man, believed to be in his 20s, was heard crying out in pain as he lay bleeding on the pavement. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.

I can see it now. “MOMMY! MOMMY! I have a booboo! The bad man shot me!! WAAAAAAAAA!”

According to neighbors, at least two other local homes have been targeted by robbers recently. The latest incident happened a week ago when burglars kicked in the door on a nearby house.

Somehow, I think they’ve seen the last of those criminals. I understand it’s hard to kick in a door when one of your intended victims shoots you in the leg.

Police say the homeowner who shot the burglary suspect will not be face charges.

Well of course not! Now the criminal? Lets see now.

Home invasion, kidnapping, illegal imprisonment, (Stuffing the owner in a closet), Armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, and it happened in Texas. What do you think? 300 or 500 year sentence? I’m glad that the homeowner is all right and saddened that two criminals got away unharmed and the third survived his wounds. It would have saved Texas a bundle if all they had to do was a quick investigation of the homeowner, (Now completed), and it being declared a justified shoot. Oh Wait! It was!

Texas has a self-defense law based on the ‘castle doctrine.’ The legislation has a ‘stand your ground’ clause, meaning the person using physical or deadly force against an attacker does not have a duty to retreat.

Deadly force is permissible under the law when a person is attempting to defend himself from an armed attacker in his home.

And this fits the law perfectly.
