Stupid criminals in the news

It never ceases to amaze me on just how stupid people are. In this case, some bonehead decided to:

1. Steal a touring bus.
2. Joyride around in it.
3. Make a video of himself doing this.
4. Post it on YouTube.

Here’s the story from WCAX in Vermont:

Barre, Vermont – November 13, 2009

Last week Channel 3 News told you about a man who allegedly stole a tour bus from Lamoille Valley Transportation in Morrisville. Now the escapade can be seen on YouTube.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jacob Rehm of Morrisville was arrested for allegedly taking the $500,000 bus on a joy ride through central Vermont. The bus was eventually tracked down in St Johnsbury. He’s a former employee of the bus company. Rehm is charged with operating without the owners consent.

Now it appears he made a 4 minute video of his adventure and posted it on YouTube. It’s titled “The Fabulous Bus Ride” and it gives a tour of the bus and shots of Rehm driving.

Rehm’s next big appearance will be in Vermont District Court in Hyde Park on Tuesday.

Considering this is Vermont, my guess is he’ll be lightly slapped on one wrist and told not to do this again. After all, this is the state that likes to go easy on child molesters.

After all, he’s just a poor misunderstood lad who was abused as a child by no one at all. It’s not like he was molesting cows or something. Oh wait, this IS Vermont after all. I wonder if the police have checked for any other videos this criminal mastermind has tucked away on his computer?

No brain cells were used in the commission of this crime.
