Democrat rats deserting Obama’s ship

Good day all. As the disaster known as Obama 404Care continues to unfold, the Democrats facing reelection are now in full panic mode. Recently they went up to confront the SCoaMF on this utter failure that has become known as Obama 404Care. (Formally Obamacare)

When they met with Der Fubar, he tired to “Enhance their calm” and tell them that there was no real problem. According to Fox News:

President Obama on Wednesday sought to assuage anxious Democrats who are worried that ObamaCare’s troubled rollout is going to come back to haunt them during the 2014 midterm elections.

“There’s a lot of pent-up frustration” among Senate Democrats who are facing voters next year, a party source familiar with the meeting told Fox News.

A Democratic source told Fox News’ Ed Henry that some of the senators in the room floated a delay of up to one year in the law’s implementation – an idea the president rejected. The source said, however, that senators left the White House feeling that it was a “constructive meeting.”

There is just one tiny problem with King Putt and the Democrats asking for a delay on the individual mandate. The Republicans asked for that during the so called shutdown last month and Obama and his minions laughed at the idea. Now that the whole house of socialist cards is collapsing, the Republicans might not want to bail them out. In fact, I created a poll asking that very question. (Currently “Let it burn” is leading with “Demand significant Concessions” running second)

The Titanic hitting the iceberg was just a glitch

The Titanic hitting the iceberg was just a glitch

Since the debacle of a roll out, the house Republicans led by Daryl Issa have been investigating how the Administration could so botch what should have been a simple web site. he’s also been digging into the details of why people are losing their insurance and that replacement policies are essentially unaffordable for most people. This has ticked off the Democrats no end, and one of the main moonbats demanded that Issa withdraw a subpoena to Todd Park who is trying to fix the Healthcare.gov web site. According to The Hill:

The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee on Monday demanded that Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) withdraw a “misguided” subpoena of an official who is working to fix the federal ObamaCare website.

In a blistering letter, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) accused Issa of hurling “unfounded accusations” against Todd Park, the administration’s chief technology officer (CTO).

“The evidence before our Committee demonstrates that Mr. Park is an honest and exemplary public servant, and your unsubstantiated public attacks against his integrity are a deficient basis on which to justify a subpoena against him,” Cummings wrote with Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.)

Now that disgrace to the human race, Elijah Cummings, has no problem with concerns over losing his seat. He comes from what the British refer to as a “Rotten Borough ((Rotten and pocket boroughs)),” (Better known as Maryland), and is in no real danger of being kicked out of office. Cummings is one of those Progressive Liberal types who hates America and white people, (Cummings is black), Hispanic people, Asian people, pretty much anyone who isn’t of recent African descent.

The subpoena Issa sent out was the last resort. He has been trying to talk to Mr. Park for a few hours to find out what went wrong and what is happening now. The Obama Administration an Park have been less then forthcoming, which is why the subpoena was issued. Todd Park was not happy about it to say the least.

Park’s office lashed out after the subpoena was issued.

Donna Pignatelli, the assistant director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), wrote a letter to Issa that said the agency had made numerous attempts to accommodate the chairman’s request for a briefing with Park.

“These efforts to accommodate your interest in hearing from Mr. Park were rebuffed and met instead with a subpoena threat in your letter yesterday,” Pignatelli wrote. “You explained that the Committee feels it has a duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch, but conspicuously absent from your letter was any statement or justification that would explain the legislative need to compel Mr. Park to appear next week as opposed to a few weeks from now.”

“OSTP is left to wonder why you would demand Mr. Park appear on November 13, knowing that doing so is more likely to hurt rather than help the goal of fixing the website as soon as possible,” she wrote

The Obamacare website is basically beyond repair. It was originally announced that they had found 800 bugs and were working to correct them. What they aren’t telling you is that it was 800 bugs that they knew about. It doesn’t cover new bugs found after a fix is made, or the problem that the fix to a bug might create a new bug. The Obama 404Care website has something like 500 million lines of code in it. For a comparison, the current release of Microsoft Windows 8 has 50 million lines of code, and it actually works as designed.

Now, as more and more people are losing their insurance, some with probable fatal results, people are hammering their representatives and senators. This has terrified the Progressive Liberal Democrats who currently hold seats in states that are either “Purple” or have trended “Red” in the last few years. All of them supported Obamacare right up until it vomited all over the internet October 1st. According to Fox News:

Senators are calling on two independent government watchdogs to launch a “thorough investigation” into the failed launch of the ObamaCare website, as officials scramble to correct the problems by the end of the month.

Sounds to me like the Senate Democrats have just hijacked Obama’s infamous bus. (The one he throws people under)

The lawmaker leading the charge for the new probe is North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan, one of several Democrats up for re-election next year who has been sharply critical of the HealthCare.gov launch. Hagan is circulating a draft letter, obtained by Fox News, that urges the Government Accountability Office and the inspector general for the Department of Health and Human Services to dig deep into what went wrong.

Why waste the money? We already know what happened. The Department of Health and Human Services hired a company run by an Obama crony, didn’t hand the project off to a person who had actual project management skills, and once they saw what the real costs were going to be, did everything they could to cover it up. This is a classic case of government corruption and incompetence at the highest levels. However, this isn’t about getting at the truth, it’s all about these Democrats covering their asses and trying to avoid being blamed for this debacle.

“These problems are simply unacceptable, and Americans deserve answers and swift solutions,” the letter states. “Taxpayers are owed a full and transparent accounting of how the vendors contracted to build the site failed to launch it successfully. We strongly urge to you undertake a complete, thorough investigation to determine the causes of the design and implementation failures of healthcare.gov.”

How about doing something original? You know, like actually doing your jobs and having an oversight committee in the senate dig into this? After all, Daryl Issa in the House can’t have all the fun.

The letter poses a series of specific questions, including whether payments were withheld to any of the 55 contractors hired to build the site. The letter asks how projected costs have grown, and what the additional cost to taxpayers will be from bringing on contractors to fix the broken site.

I can answer part of this. Of course no payments were withheld.

Further, the letter asks why the contract was only opened up to a limited pool of contractors who originally bid on a 2007 contract.

I think I covered that. One of Michelle Obama’s college buddies is a high mucky-muck in the company, so of course the Obamas wanted to take care of him. After all, once Obama’s out, he’s going to need someone else to sponge off since he won’t be getting anything from the taxpayers.

Several moderate Democrats ((There ain’t no such animal)) facing re-election next year have backed calls to extend the end-of-March deadline for individuals to obtain insurance coverage, citing problems with the main exchange site. The Obama administration so far has urged patience, claiming they plan to have the site fully functional by the end of November — and has announced no plans to extend the March 31, 2014, deadline.

And President Community Organizer is also an expert in writing code? Perhaps he should grow his hair out and cut it so that he has to points. Then we can start referring to him as “The Pointy-Haired President. ((The pointy-haired boss))” Of course Obama won’t delay the mandate. One reason is that it will destroy the insurance companies before Obama is ready to nationalize them. (Single Payer is the plan of the Progressive Liberal Democrats after all)

comrade obama

Now is NOT the time for the Party of Stupid to help the Democrats save themselves. They asked for a delay to the mandate and were told to shove that idea where the sun don’t shine. Now that they are figuring out that they will be lucky not to be lynched, never mind reelected, the Republicans should just stand pat. Of course, this IS the “Party of Stupid” after all and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is part and parcel for them.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, said the numbers build the case for delaying the law.

“Whether it’s higher costs, fewer choices or simply website glitches, it’s becoming more clear with each passing day that this law isn’t ready for prime time and should be delayed,” he said in a statement.

Stuck on Stupid

No dumbass. That train, (Delay the mandate), has long since left the station. We need to do a repeal and replace as soon as possible. There are a few ideas out there, ready to go. This is one plan that the GOP came up with in September. From the Daily Caller:

The Republican Study Committee in the House of Representatives will unveil a health-care bill Wednesday to replace Obamacare.

The bill, titled the Republican Study Committee’s American Health Care Reform Act, “dramatically opens up options for families, and dramatically lowers costs” compared to the Obamacare law, committee chairman Louisiana Rep. Steven Scalise told The Daily Caller.

The 200-page budget-neutral bill would provide $20,000 in tax deductions to families and a $7,500 deduction to individuals, so they can buy insurance from vendors in any state. It would also would allow Americans to keep the money they save by picking lower-cost providers.

In an effort to contend with one of the more popular aspects of Obamacare, the Republican bill — which was drafted by a committee subgroup headed by Rep. Phil Roe, a doctor — would also create a 10-year, $25 billion fund to lower costs for Americans afflicted with pre-existing conditions such as cancer.

Additionally, it would let people carry their insurance with them from job to job, and cut wasteful legal costs by reforming medical lawsuits. The bill transfers authority from Obamacare’s regulators to citizens because “we think people are smart enough and will find the best plan for their family,” Scalise said.

Is this plan perfect? No, but it is a good place to start. Right off the bat it’s only 200 pages long and these lazy clowns, I mean “Honored Members of the House and Senate” will be able to actually read it. The major reason costs have skyrocketed for medical care is the dead hand of government coming in with it’s “We know what’s best” attitude and trying to jam a “One size fits all” way of doing things on to the American People. Centralized control like this has never worked anywhere. Now that the Democrats are coming to the realization that the voters hate Obamacare, and will take it out on them, they are launching the lifeboats and abandoning the SS Obama as fast as they can. It’s not going to save them.
