Good day all. The trials and tribulations of the New Jersey Great White RINO continue. As I wrote about last week, The Fat One really put his teensy weensy dick in a wringer with what is being called “BridgeGate.” As you might expect, the Progressive Liberal Democrats in NJ, the same ones who have run the state into the ground are now talking impeachment.
Frankly, I don’t think they really want to go down that road unless there is actual documentation that Governor FatAss was involved with the decision to close the GW bridge. If they try, then someone will ask “Well, what about Obama? He’s done a lot worse. Using the IRS to suppress the conservative groups in 2012, Fast&Furious, Benghazi and of course Obama404Care?” Well, now the Feds are looking at where the Hurricane Sandy relief money went to. According to the Communist News Network, (CNN) the Feds want to know about money diverted to an advertising campaign.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s office said in a statement on Monday that the “Stronger than the Storm” campaign was part of an “action plan” approved by the Obama administration and developed with the goal of showing that the New Jersey shore was open for business during the first summer after Superstorm Sandy.
“Federal agency reviews are routine and standard operating procedure with all federally allocated resources to ensure that funds are distributed fairly. We’re confident that any review will show that the ads were a key part in helping New Jersey get back on its feet after being struck by the worst storm in state history,” according to the statement issued in response to questions from CNN.
Standard boilerplate from the guilty.
CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used those relief funds to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family.
I remember those ads. I also ignored them. I wasn’t aware that they may have used Federal relief funds, but considering how corrupt all levels of government are, particularly the more “Progressive” governments, it wouldn’t surprise me.
If the Sandy inquiry finds any wrongdoing, it could prove even more damaging to Christie’s national ambitions. His performance during and after the superstorm has been widely praised and is a fundamental part of his straight-shooting political brand.
In the new probe, federal auditors will examine New Jersey’s use of $25 million in Sandy relief funds for a marketing campaign to promote tourism at the Jersey Shore after Sandy decimated the state’s coastline in late 2012, New Jersey Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone told CNN
Frankly, I don’t consider this to be that big of a deal considering all the waste and pork that went into the original spending bill. Still, it does make the Great White RINO look bad. That isn’t a bad thing in my eyes.
Pallone wrote that he was concerned about the bidding process for the firm awarded the marketing plan; the winning firm is charging the state about $2 million more than the next lowest bidder. The winning $4.7 million bid featured Christie and his family in the advertisements while the losing $2.5 million proposal did not feature the Christies.
Yeah that does tend to make ShamFool the Great Fat Slob look bad, but then we do have the no bid contract on Obama404Care. At least the ads worked when deployed, so to speak.
On Sunday, Pallone told CNN that the inspector general conducted a preliminary review of the spending and concluded that there was enough evidence to launch a full-scale investigation into the state’s use of federal funds. The audit will take several months, and the findings will be issued in an official report, he said. Pallone, a 27-year veteran of the House and vocal Christie critic, said this is not about politics.
Sure it isn’t. Pull the other finger, it has a bell on it! Of course this is all about politics. That’s all the Progressive Liberal Democrats can do. Actual competent governing? HAH!
Democrats slammed Christie over the summer for starring in taxpayer-funded ads as he was running for re-election in November, arguing it gave him an unfair advantage. Christie aides said at the time that the winning bid provided more value.
If you are waiting for me to come to the defense of Christie, make yourselves comfortable. You’re going to have one heck of a long wait. Of course, with BridgeGate, this doesn’t help Speaker to Donuts and his dreams of chowing down in the Oval Office.
As bad as the bridge scandal is for Christie, if investigators find he improperly spent Sandy funds, it could get far worse, tarnishing the signature achievement that has made him a serious contender for the White House.
Once again we hear how Christie is a serious contender. He isn’t. Oh he may think he is, and the Establishment RINO’s in the Republican Party may want him, but the Conservative base and the Tea Party groups do not trust him at all. Odds are that he wouldn’t get the nomination, and if he did, he would blow the general election for the Republicans…again.
Now, in the latest strike in The War of the Blowhards, Christie’s people are firing back. According to the Daily Caller:
Aides to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are pointing out that the Obama administration approved of the New Jersey tourism ads starring Christie and his family that a Democratic congressman has encouraged federal investigators to probe. Using federal relief money after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the state of the New Jersey ran “Stronger than the Storm” ads promoting the state’s beaches.
“The Stronger Than The Storm campaign was just one part of the first action plan approved by the Obama Administration and developed with the goal of effectively communicating that the Jersey Shore was open for business during the first summer after Sandy,” Christie spokesman Colin Reed said Monday.
Anyone want to make a small wager that they have documentation on this and, unlike the King Putt regime, will be more then happy to dump it on the Democrats?
On Monday, Christie’s office welcomed the review of the Sandy relief funding expenditures and said they were confident it would indicate the TV ads were appropriate. The action plan that Christie’s office said was approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development included language calling for a media campaign to draw tourists back to the beaches.
“Federal agency reviews are routine and standard operating procedure with all federally allocated resources to ensure that funds are distributed fairly,” Reed said. “We’re confident that any review will show that the ads were a key part in helping New Jersey get back on its feet after being struck by the worst storm in state history.”
“A core part of the first year of the contract will be to design and implement a newly branded message for New Jersey to attract visitors and bolster consumer spending in Sandy-impacted areas,” the action plan stated.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Blubbery One has all the documents ready to go and can’t wait to throw them at this Pallone character. After that, I suspect we will be seeing this:

From my point of view, and the point of view of a lot of people, Christie is just like Obama with a few notable exceptions. He’s white. He’s fat and he will take responsibility for his actions and fire people. As to actually achieving anything? Well, he does have a big mouth. (All the better to eat that box of Krispy Kreme’s don’t you know)
