Making the Angry Webmaster less angry

bofh_picGood day all, this is the Angry Systems Administrator. As you may recall, a few weeks ago the Angry loudmouth Webmaster went on a business trip. We discovered two things, one annoying and the other rather serious.

The serious thing was the new install of Windows 7 on the Angry Buffoon’s Webmaster’s laptop. For some reason it didn’t activate correctly. Once he got back I was able to determine that the registration key was smudged just enough that one letter was off. After working with Microsoft, I found the correct letter and was able to activate the Windows 7 installation properly. I also wrote it down in my database of registration codes.

The other issue was LibreOffice. We use the portable version rather then the install version for ease in backing it up. When the latest version was released, something broke with the copy and paste feature. This is rather critical since both the Webmaster and I like to write up blog postings offline and work out the kinks as it were rather then try and deal with revision system in WordPress.

A new version was released last week and I’m happy to say that the copy and paste feature is now back in operation. The workaround that the Angry Whinemaster Webmaster had come up with involved saving the document out as a .RTF file and then using Wordpad to read it and copy it into the Blog. It’s a good think the HR department is in a sound proofed office. The cussing would have melted their precious politically correct ears if they had heard him. Not that it would matter since the Angry Porn Watcher Webmaster also owns the place.

So if you have been using LibreOffice and also ran into this issue, now would be a good time to update it. That should correct any problems you may be having.

Thank you for your patience.
