Congressman thinks they are underpaid

Good day all. It seems that some members of congress think they aren’t paid enough for the work they do. Yes, they think that making $174,000.00 is not enough for them. This doesn’t include little things like transportation benefits, healthcare benefits, vesting in a retirement pension after 5 years as well as many other perks that regular people and businesses have to pay for themselves.

Now that you have either stopped rolling on the floor in a hysterical fit of laughter, cleaned up your keyboard and monitor after spewing food products on them and have gotten your blood pressure back under control, here are the details from Roll Call:

Despite what constituents outside of Washington might think, members of Congress are underpaid, a House Legislative Branch appropriator suggested Thursday.

And who is this “Esteemed, overworked representative of the people?

Virginia Democrat James P. Moran said he plans to highlight the injustice by introducing an amendment to the Legislative Branch bill during its full committee markup, and at floor consideration of the bill. Moran made the comments while the bill that funds members’ $174,000 salaries was being marked up in the Legislative Branch subcommittee.

Of course, it would be one of the more corrupt members of the House and a Progressive Liberal Democrat to boot.

“I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid,” Moran told CQ Roll Call. “I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.”

Oh yes, Jim Moron Moran. A man who has managed to avoid anything doing with the Dreaded Private Sector for most of his adult life. According to his bio, he did a short stint as a stockbroker, otherwise he’s been on the public dole payroll since the mid-80’s. Oh, and if he thinks he’s a member of the board of directors, then he should be fired for incompetence. If a normal company were run the way those chowder-heads run the country, it would have gone bankrupt and closed its doors decades ago

The senior appropriator pointed out that some members have taken to living out of their offices to save money, while others have “small little apartment units” that make it impossible to spend the time they should with their families.

Perhaps he and the other members of America’s senior criminal class should look back on what the original intent of Congress was. Come in during the winter months, then go home and do some real work like farming. They also expected members of congress to only server one or two terms, generally after a lifetime of working in the Dreaded Private Sector. They never expected the rise of a professional political class of useless layabouts who think the office they hold is owed to them. (And it’s both parties that have this belief) Representative Moron Moonbat Moran has announced that this will be his last term in office. He is also one of the reasons the United States is in such a mess. People like him are so out of touch with reality that they literally can’t relate to the people they are supposed to be representing.

Now I have a few thoughts on the issues this twerp brought up. First, housing. I don’t see a problem here. Just stick them on a military base. Those with families can have a small house, the rest can live in a bachelor’s officer quarters. A bus will be provided to take them to and from their housing to congress. Of course, members won’t be required to live in the provided housing. If they so choose, they can live wherever they want to. They will have to pay for it, not the taxpayers. They will continue to have their free medical care, at the base hospital. They just have to line up with the rest of the people and wait their turn. If they need to work late, a desk will be provided along with a secure network connection. Of course, people like Moonbat Moron would be aghast and living like this. Why, that’s for the common people, not the Progressive Liberal Elite’s such as himself!

It is interesting to note that there is no dearth of people willing to make the “Sacrifice” and run for office. In many cases, they will be getting a pretty significant pay hike. It’s also amusing to see all these worthless worthies who scream poverty actually have assets well into the millions of dollars. And then there are their campaign accounts. You know, the one the lobbyists donate to. These greedy slobs, again on both sides of the aisle, regularly tap into these accounts. Occasionally, one of these idiots gets rather blatant about looting their campaign accounts and gets called on it ((Reid Scandal Deepens: Campaign Cash Paid To Granddaughter Hits $31,000)).

If all these members of congress are having to make financial sacrifices to hold office, (Ok, you can stop laughing now), they can simply leave and go work in a private sector job they are more suited to. Things as Wal-Mart greeter, McDonalds hamburger flipper, bagboy at the local supermarket or shoe salesman ((Al Bundy)). People like Moran are the reason congress is held in utter contempt. They are supposed to put their constituents and the nation first. In way to many cases, they put themselves first, ignore their constituents and actually harm the United States. They don’t deserve a pay hike. They deserve a pay cut.
