Indonesia mulls tearing down Obama statue

Oh the horror! The horror! Indonesia doesn’t love Obama anymore!!

JAKARTA — Indonesian authorities said Monday they are considering a petition to tear down a statue of US President Barack Obama as a boy, only a month after the bronze was unveiled in Jakarta.

Only 1 month? Talk about your quickie marriages. Mayflies last longer then this.

Critics say the site should have been used to honour an Indonesian and 55,000 people have joined a page on social networking website Facebook calling for the statue to be removed.

I think we should all join that Facebook group and throw some moral support to the 55,000 Indonesians who think that honoring a complete phony is a really bad idea.

“We’ve been discussing for the past two weeks what to do with the statue… whether to take it down, move it elsewhere or retain it. We’re finding the best solution,” Jakarta parks agency official Dwi Bintarto said.

“Barack Obama has yet to make a significant contribution to the Indonesian nation. We could say Obama only ate and s (expletive) in Menteng. He spent his subsequent days living as an American,” the web page says.

Might I suggest melting it down and making litter boxes and ash trays out of it? Perhaps making it into a public urinal? If you feel that is a waste of metal, may we suggest someone from this web site? Granted I don’t know anything about Indonesian history, but I have no doubt there are real heroes over there. Perhaps someone who did something truly heroic during the 2004 tsunami?

Members of the “Take Down the Barack Obama Statue in Menteng Park” group on Facebook say Obama has done nothing for Indonesia.

Or anyone else for that matter. Don’t forget, as far as the megalomaniac in chief is concerned it all about him.

“For the dignity of a sovereign nation, Barack Obama’s monument in Menteng Park must be removed immediately.”

And we heartily agree. I would suggest contracting out the job to the U.S. Marines? They have experience in pulling down statues and have the tools to do a proper job of it.

Frankly, whoever dreamed up this silly idea of a statue of Obama needs to be committed for a psychological examination and also be tested for LSD. The only explanation I can think of for putting up a statue to that idiot is either a bad acid trip or complete insanity.

I wish the Indonesians well and hope they are successful in their efforts to remove that waste of good bronze.
