John Conyers may be retired due to stupidity

Good day all. I just saw this little blurb on Hot Air and thought it was very amusing. It seems that Representative John Conyers might be having some problems with his signature gathering.

Now a brief history. Conyers is a Moonbat gasbag allegedly representing the 13th district in Michigan. He has been in Congress for 50 very long years. As near as I can tell, outside of the Army, he hasn’t done an honest days work in his life. He is a member in good standing of the Professional Political Class, (PLFD group). Since he was a bought pol for the United Auto Workers union, he generally didn’t have to work very hard at getting reelected.Well, it looks like this time he may have a problem. Here are some details from ClickOn Detroit:

Veteran U.S. Congressman John Conyers does not have enough signatures to get on the Aug. 5 primary ballot, according to Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett. Garrett told Local 4 on Friday that the signatures of two of Conyers’ circulators appear to be invalid.

However, she said this is not the final decision on the issue. That will come by May 7, following an investigation into a formal challenge of Conyers’ signatures. If he doesn’t get on the ballot, Conyers will have to run as a write-in candidate for his 26th term. The 84-year-old Detroit Democrat is coming up on 50 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.

As I said above, Conyers has been in the house since before the invention of dirt. He has had to run for reelection 24 times. It isn’t that difficult to get on the ballot. Now just how many did he need?

He needed 1,000 valid voter signatures to get his name on the ballot.

1000 valid signatures? How tough could that be? Since he is a democrat, all his people would need to do is head to the nearest cemetery and copy down the names, just as the democrats always do. So what went wrong?

At issue are two of Conyers’ petition gatherers who apparently were not registered voters, as required by Michigan law, when they canvassed voters for signatures. That means any signatures they collected would be declared invalid and, apparently, that drops the 50-year Congressional veteran below the petition threshold to appear on the ballot.

Ok, now Conyers might have additional problems with a write in candidacy. Considering the school system in his district, literacy may be an issue. It would be nice if a Conservative could get in because that senile old moonbat screwed up his reelection. Now Conyers is going to have to actually work for the first time since his first coronation to Congress. It couldn’t happen to a sleazer political hack

Rep. John Conyers, who arrived in Congress in 1965, has a serious ballot issue regarding his re-election. Will he be on the ballot? Will he be a write in? He would be the most senior member of Congress next year if he is re-elected.
