Scientists seek new ways to loot taxpayers

Good day all. Recently, I saw a story that made me just shake my head. It seems that scientists are racing to develop farm animals that will survive Global Warming Climate Change.

Yes, it’s true. Scientists, and I use that term very loosely here, think that current farm animals are ALL DOOMED due to Global Warming Climate Change. Here’s more on this idiocy from the blithering idiotic moonbats at the L.A. Times:

When a team of researchers from the University of Delaware traveled to Africa two years ago to search for exemplary chickens, they weren’t looking for plump thighs or delicious eggs. They were seeking out birds that could survive a hotter planet. The researchers were in the vanguard of food scientists, backed by millions of dollars from the federal government, racing to develop new breeds of farm animals that can stand up to the hazards of global warming.

Ok, just stop right there. You mean to tell me that people are seriously wasting money on this garbage? We’ve known for quite a while that the “Earth doesn’t have a fever” no matter what that scumbag Al Gore says. The Earth is not going to turn into another Venus. Rather, we can expect a new ice age sometime in the next 5-10,000 years or so. Of course this is the Church of Global Warming and reality is never allowed to interfere with their faith.

Some climate-change activists dismiss the work, which is just getting underway, as a distraction and a concession to industrial-style agriculture, which they blame for compounding the world’s environmental problems. Those leading the experiments, however, say new, heat-resistant breeds of farm animals will be essential to feeding the world as climate change takes hold.

Hey Dumbass! The Climate is always changing. It’s called “The Weather.”

The experiments reflect a continued shift in the federal government’s response to climate change. With efforts to reduce carbon emissions lagging behind what most scientists believe will be needed to forestall further warming, the government increasingly is looking for ways to protect key industries from the impact.

What I see here is a massive fraud being perpetrated on the Taxpayers by a bunch of clueless academics who really aren’t even qualified to ask “Would you like fries with your order?”

In agriculture, “we are dealing with the challenge of difficult weather conditions at the same time we have to massively increase food production” to accommodate larger populations and a growing demand for meat, said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.

America is one of the most efficient food producing nations in history, provided you get the government out of the way. Farmers have been producing more food on less acreage for decades. In fact, the major reason we have hunger in the world is not because we don’t grow enough food, it’s because we have governments getting in the way.

That means efforts like the one here, in which Carl Schmidt and his colleagues are trying to map the genetic code of bizarre-looking African naked-neck chickens to see if their ability to withstand heat can be bred into flocks of U.S. broilers.

“The game is changing since the climate is changing,” Schmidt said. “We have to start now to anticipate what changes we have to make in order to feed 9 billion people,” citing global-population estimates for 2050.

Listen you moron, the climate is ALWAYS changing, and some species just don’t make it. Ever hear of the Wooly Mammoth? Contrary to the lies from religious fanatics scientists with an agenda blaming humans, the mammoths went extinct due to the rapid changes caused by, wait for it, GLOBAL WARMING when the last Ice Age ended and the glaciers melted. Somehow, I don’t think Ogg the caveman driving around in his SUV was responsible for the ice age ending. I think it was due to the Planet shifting on it’s axis instead.

Warmer temperatures can create huge problems for animals farmed for food. Turkeys are vulnerable to a condition that makes their breast meat mushy and unappetizing. Disease rips through chicken coops. Brutal weather can claim entire cattle herds.

The problem with chicken coops is simple. The chickens are cooped up. Granted, this is the most efficient way to raise them, but it does allow for the spread of diseases. On the other hand, it does allow for ways to cool them down. As to cattle getting wiped out? Yes, that happens, usually during blizzards when they get buried in the snow.

Funny thing about a lot of cattle, they’re stupid. Buffalo know enough to dig down through the snow to get at grass and to keep from getting buried. Normally, when the weather turns bad enough to harm cattle, the ranchers go out and move them to a safe location. Now why would they do that I wonder? Oh, I know. They are protecting their livelihood!

Strasburg’s research involves turning up the heat lamps several degrees on hundreds of turkey chicks, as well as on turkey eggs before they hatch. Researchers will then study the animals’ muscles and attempt to parse out genes that could help the animals endure hotter environments. The hope is ultimately to enable the industry to breed turkeys resilient to heat waves.

So, you are torturing animals? Someone call PETA and have this fiend arrested!!

In any case, not all of these frauds scientists agree on looking at breeding a better chicken.

Some climate experts, however, question the federal government’s emphasis on keeping pace with a projected growing global appetite for meat. Because raising animals demands so many resources, the only viable way to hit global targets for greenhouse gas reduction may be to encourage people to eat less meat, they say.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but most people aren’t vegans, we are omnivores. That means we like a good steak with our potatoes. A pure vegan diet is actually not that healthy for people. They need the protein you get from a nice juicy steak or a tender chicken.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture approach to climate change “is like trying to promote driver safety while helping the car industry make faster cars,” said Alan Miller, who recently retired as a principal climate-change specialist at the World Bank ((World Bank Group)).

The World Bank has climate change specialists? Why? I can see having people who are trained meteorologists on staff, someone who “Specializes in climate change?” That sounds like a typical phony no-show job to me.

The meat industry should be more radical in confronting climate change, Miller said, pointing to an approach backed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates that takes animals out the process altogether. The billionaire is bullish on technology that would use pea proteins to create replicas of beef and chicken that are indistinguishable from the real thing.

“There’s no way to produce enough meat for 9 billion people,” Gates wrote recently on his blog. “Yet we can’t ask everyone to become vegetarians. We need more options for producing meat without depleting our resources.”

Bill Gates knows a thing or two about running a software company, but not much else. To put it bluntly, Gates has done a lot of damage to any cause he’s thrown himself into, whether it’s education, (Wrecking schools), or food production. He should just continue with his project of giving away all his money and stay out of things he doesn’t know about.

One of the problems with these scientists, is their complete lack of thinking. They are refusing to actually consider that Global Warming isn’t happening, or that if it is occurring, is part of the natural cycles of the planet. One of the interesting things about all these scientists screaming out “The science is settled!” is how few of them are actually qualified to speak on the subject of weather and climate.

There are a multitude of reasons for these Tranzi’s to jump on the “Man Caused Global Warming” bandwagon. One is their overwhelming desire to control people. These clowns still believe in the “New Soviet man ((The New Soviet man))” and to a lesser extent, the Aryan race ((Aryan race)). Basically they are a bunch of over-educated control freaks who think they know what’s good for the rest of the world and don’t care who they have to kill in order to achieve their goals. To date, they have managed to kill hundreds of millions of people around the world trying to impose their views on the rest of the planet.

Do you want to make things better? Figure out ways to get clean water in sufficient quantities to irrigate crops and animals. There’s plenty of water out there in a place called “The Ocean.” All it needs to to be filtered and piped to areas that need it.

Prior to the actions of the Radical Anti-human Environmentalist movement, California was a world leader in turning a desert into farmland. Then the RAE’s came in and got one of their fellow travelers on the federal bench to shut the water off to “Save a fish” that wasn’t even threatened in the first place. Now, some of the most productive farmland in the country has gone back to being a desert. How many people are going to starve because of these anti-human genocidal criminals?

If farmers and “Big Agriculture” want to spend money on breeding a better turkey, let them. It’s their money after all and they can do with it as they please. However, until there is an actual proven issue, then the taxpayers should NOT be asked to pay for any of this nonsense.
