Bloomberg blows another $150,000

Once again, Michael Bloomberg, former emperor of New York City, has blown even more money trying to support anti-gun politicians and referendum. In this case, he went after a sitting sheriff who was running for reelection.

This sheriff is a Democrat, but obviously isn’t a barking moonbat. He is also a supporter of the Second Amendment, which Naggy, Nanny Bloomberg most certainly is not. Here is what the Washington Times reported:

A pro-gun incumbent sheriff in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, beat back the anti-gun money of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to win his primary contest for re-election by a handy margin, 52-48 percent.

That’s a pretty fair margin I would think. Now, this was the Democrat Primary, not a general election. That occurs in November, but according to the Times, Sheriff David Clarke isn’t facing anyone on the Republican side, so he has essentially won reelection.

The race took on national tones just last week when Mr. Bloomberg — who helps head the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group and who has taken up a personal crusade to scale back Second Amendment rights — threw in $150,000 to defeat Sheriff Clarke. That amount was more than what Sheriff Clarke and his opponent, Chris Moews, spent on their entire campaigns, The Washington Post reported. But Mr. Bloomberg’s efforts to sway voters down the anti-gun path failed.

Bloomberg is an idiot. He is also a classic elitist who believes that it is his job to run every person’s life. Another word for that is “Totalitarian.” Now what attracted Bloomberg to this race anyway?

Sheriff Clarke made national headlines with a public service ad in 2013 in which Townhall reported he stated, in part: “I’m Sheriff David Clarke and I want to talk to you about something personal: Your safety. It’s no longer a spectator sport. I need you in the game. But are you ready? With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. … Consider taking a certified safety course in handling of firearms, so you can defend yourself until we get there. You have a duty to protect yourself and your family. We’re partners now. Can I count on you?”

Yep, that’s like ringing the dinner bell at Michael Moore’s house. Well, whichever one of the nine he happens to be in at the time. Of course, that wasn’t the only thing that ticked off the Nagging Midget.

The sheriff was also a featured speaker at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Indianapolis — during which he harshly criticized Mr. Bloomberg’s anti-gun efforts.

I can just see Bloomies wetting his panties when he heard about that. It really enrages Bloomies when law enforcement people speak the truth. When seconds count, police are minutes, or hours away. There is also the little detail that police are not responsible for protecting the individual. People like Bloomberg, actually pretty much everyone on the Progressive left, refuses to allow people the means to defend themselves. As I wrote a week ago, it’s far better to allow people to be raped, robbed and murdered then it is to allow anyone to have a gun and actually use it to stop a criminal. There is an exception to this of course. If you are a rich elitist like Michael Bloomberg, then it is your right to have a large contingent of armed bodyguards surrounding you and who will shoot any of you peons who dare approach him. They term for this is Hypocrisy and Bloomies is a master of the art form. Congratulations to Sheriff Clarke.
